|
|
I've been using JS2 permanently since release and since I like to keep my plugins folder lean I want to remove JS1. I moved JS1 to another folder temporarily to check JS2 was okay and found some samples missing in JS2 from for example the Brush pak (among others). I copied the samples from JS1 folder to JS2 and reinstalled all of the paks to be safe and a cursory check suggests all is okay.
Before, I uninstall JS1 are there any other files I should copy across, that I may have missed?
Thanks

If you want them, copy all *.rrf files from 'rhythms' to 'grooves' and all *.raf files from 'accents' to 'fills'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

You should be ok.
If you have any self made grooves from JS 1 or if you want to keep the old JS rhythms for further use however make sure to copy them from jamstix>> rhythms to jamstix2>>data>>grooves.
Afterwards you can delete your old jamstix folder. |

I'm thinking of doing the same thing.
What about JS1 sound packs?
Are all the required samples installed under JS2 folder?
or are there some JS1 samples that need to be copied.
Can I just clarify the correct JS1 removal process/checklist as:
. copied the samples from JS1 folder to JS2
. reinstalled all of the paks to js2
q: can I skip these first two samples steps?
. copy JS1 rhythms from jamstix>> rhythms to jamstix2>>data>>grooves.
. copy all js1 *.raf files from 'accents' to 'fills
. uninstall JS1 by just delete the folder? I only seem to have the Jamstix 2.1.4 in the list of windows installed programs now, so I guess that's the only option.

Here's the complete checklist:
- copy all files from 'rhythms' to 'grooves'
- copy all files from 'accents' to 'fills'
- copy all files from 'samples' to 'sounds'
- uninstall Jamstix 1 or delete Jamstix 1 folder _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Copied the files from rhythyms to grooves, but Jamstix 2 doesn't seem to see the rrf files, only JS2data files, get the same problem when copying accents to fills. The samples to sounds copy went ok. Reinstalled the Jamstix 1 paks, and they are good to go, but I would like to have the Jamstix 1 rhythyms available in 2. Thanks! |

The rrf files show up when using the part menu-> Import-> Import Jamstix 1 Rhythm. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| How would you take an arrangement created in JS1 and import a particular song layout into JS2? |

You'd have to save the rhythms used in the JS1 arrangement and then import them into the JS2 song as needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
