NEVER MIND THIS TOPIC! Sorry for making a mess of it all, but I just tried to work on the project with the 7/4 bars, but all went wrong... Suddenly sounds dropped out, I got access violations and so on... this was a BAD tip! Sorry! Big shame... Now I am forced to play those 7/4 bars with Jamstix as a dumb drum module...
EDIT: Bummer, even that doesn't work because I can't get Jamstix to keep silent those 7/4 bars... So I have to use it as a drum module for the entire song... Crying or Very sad

Initial post, which you should forget about:
Maybe I am missing something, but apparently most people cannot create a 7/4 bar (I just looked on this forum for a way to that because I need it badly) . Well, I just found a solution by accident. It does have limitations though, but for me it works in the song I am working on. Forgive me when I repeat something old and well known. Wink It may also be important to add I only tested this with bars that I edited manually, with no style and drummer loaded. I have version 2.1.4.

To set 7/4, doubleclick on the specific part and change the time signature as follows:

1. First set the second number of the time signature to 8.
2. Then set the first number to 7.
3. Then set the second number to 4 and click okay.

And that's all, folks! Now you will have a 7/4 bar.

A few very important things though:

- Notes beyond the 6 step can only be added/changed by dragging: clicking doesn't work.

- The last two ticks of the 7th bar can't be changed at all, since the bar window isn't wide enough...

- As soon as you want to edit the part's amount of bars and repetitions, you will see the time sig is 6/4 again! But that doesn't matter: change the number of repetitions or amount of bars, but BEFORE you click okay, repeat the procedure to get 7/4 again, and all will be fine. All (manually) added notes beyond count 6 will still be there.

- When you copy bars with this time sig, the bars you copy don't seem to be selected when you rightclick them and they seem to stay empty, but as soon as you start playing the song, all is fine.

Again, I haven't yet tested what happens if you add a style and drummer, but I don't need them for the song I am working on. I do have a truckload of time signature changes though, and using 4/4 and 3/4 after each other would get me to the part-limit in no time... For this song the trick works, so... I thought I'd just share it. Wink

The A.I. will definitely not play past the 26th 16th note and there can be unexpected side effects to this method so use caution!

Okay, clear... As soon as I notice a severe side effect I'll post it here! Until now it does work for my specific purpose. But apparently it may indeed be wise not to use this on a very important project!
