According to Douglas at Natural Studio (http://naturalstudio.co.uk), he's going to be closing up shop soon. I caught wind of this on KVR and went over to check out what he has going since I have heard of ns_kit7 for years but never followed up. I downloaded the ns_kit7free and loaded it into a JS2-subhosted Battery3 using a kit mapping I found on his support forum and let Carter take it for a spin. It left me wanting the full version.
Douglas' full product ns_kit7 sample kit is some 18 GB on 5 DVDs for around 80EUR with a free 640MB conga set as a bonus. The only catch is that there are no DVDs in stock at the moment. He will only do a final production run before closing his doors if enough people e-mail him and beg (pre-commit).
Just a heads up for what seems to be a killer deal, and a great supplement to Jamstix 1/2. |

I think someone is going to pick it up after Douglas stops it. It's quite sad really, as that drum kit has so much potential and versatility. It's probably the deepest sampled kit I've ever seen. It works SO well with Jamstix too!
In some ways it was crippled by never having a unique "player vsti" like all the drums do nowadays. I know he doesn't have the resources to design a vsti to go along with it. Used in Kontakt2 though. Wow.
The Dream Hats are the single best hi-hats ever sampled. Nothing comes close. |

| seems like it would need a VST wrapper that can make the use of the complicated hi hats more intuitively accessible, etc.. in some way. I never bought the NS7 as I didn't like the sound of the audio demos for the kind of music I do. But it sure has a loyal following, that is for sure. |

You can pop it into Kontakt or Halion and it works fine generally. I wish it did have a real interface though.
What kinda music do you do? |

| I've heard demos of it doing most things...Metal, Harder stuff. Do you require a more ambient Albini-type tone? |
