| Can Jamstix output the whole arrangement to a midi file (or midi notes on a separate midi track)? Like in Stylus RMX we can drag and drop the whole midi file to any midi track in Sonar. |

There is an 'Export To MIDI file' button in the arrangement tab and Jamstix also outputs its events to MIDI-Out so it can be recorded on a MIDI track. Both features are limited to bars 1-4 in the Jamstix demo. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes, it´s possible to do that.
You can either do a Midi Export, which captures all of Jamstix´ generated rhythms but doesn´t capture any of the real-time parameters Jamstix is capable of.
Or you can simply record Jamstix´ Midi Out on any track you like. This way everything is captured. |

Thanks. I tried the export to midi feature.
The generated midi file seems to miss the velocity dynamics that jamstix has when playing (in manual mode after the rhythm is generated in the freejam mode). Is this correct? Or is the exported midi file exactly the same as the one playing in manual mode? |

The 'Export To Midi' function is like a 'bounce' at the moment so it runs through the arrangement to generate its output. This means that all real-time factors of the host cannot apply to the export, such as velocity tracking. In the near future we will add an 'Export Jam' function that will write a buffered copy of the last session played to a MIDI file to help with this.
Until then, record the MIDI out instead of the export to get a precise copy of the jam. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
