Hello,

I've been playing with the Jamstix demo and I think it's very cool - exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for. I've just got a few questions about the authorisation procedure before I decide whether or not to buy it.

Jamstix doesn't use challenge/response copy protection, right? What I understand by 'licence key' is that I'll be sent a small text or executable file which is used to validate the installation, and which won't expire, i.e. can be reused if I reinstall windows, upgrade my hardware or get a new computer. Is this how it works? Is there a limit to the number of installations? Any other reason why I might need to apply for a new licence in the future?

Sorry if this has been covered before. I did a search, but all the discussions I found were slightly hazy on this topic.

Thanks for your help.

Correct.

All correct. There is no limit and the license key will never expire.

OK, just bought the XL version. The weak dollar and the holiday sale made for too good a deal to pass up.

For what it's worth, thanks for taking a sane approach to your copy protection. I've avoided a lot of software that I'd still really like to own because the developers chose to implement some draconian scheme that doesn't stop the crackers and only serves to frustrate legitimate users. Respect to you for having some faith in your customers.

Happy Christmas everyone! Very Happy
