Dear all,
Possibly a dumb question, or one that has been answered several times, sorry!
Here is what I am doing / trying to achieve. I have jamstix2 running in cubase 4.1 on a pc that is hooked up to my mac pro running logic 8 locked with MTC, all good. When I'm happy with the song in js2, I drag the resulting midi file to my pc bluetooth folder and pick it up on the mac, great! I import the file into logic and assign dfhs, and it plays back odd because I guess the mapping is different. My question is, how do I get the midi file to play back the correct drum sounds using various plugins(batt3,dfhs etc)? I initially tried setting dfhs to gm extended but that did not seem to help. I was using the quick start rock kit / patterns in js2. I know I can transpose the notes in logics editor but was hoping there was a quicker way than this! Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers.
My apologies as this seems to work great with battery 3, maybe dfhs mappings? Thanks |

Go to the kit window, click 'Load', check "Keys Only' and then load the 'DFHS' kit. This will assign the DFHS key layout to JS2. Now replay your song for the change to take effect and then export the MIDI. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. I did not have dfhs installed on the pc so i did that and loaded the Sonor kit along with one of the preset arranges. I exported the midi file and put it into logic 8 with dfhs and it worked! Tried it with a few kits including custom and vintage. Sounds amazing and what a great piece of software Jamstix2 is! Many thanks! |
