One of the great things about the Rayzoon forum over the last 2.5 years (!) has been the complete lack of hostility and flaming. Guys, please let us keep it that way. I can feel this thread slowly sliding into that zone and I'm asking you all to help me keep it civil and polite!

Thank you!!

I know the people involved in the tension have apologized so this is not directed toward them, I just wanted to add my $.02:

Let's not forget the single greatest thing about this forum, which is that we have a place to give our suggestions to Ralph and have him respond. I'm sure he would be the first to say that not every idea that came through this forum was something that had occurred to him on his own. He sees the value in listening to our ideas, and so we should see the value in listening to each other's.

Jamstix has a million features I'll never use, but the fact that they are there broadens the user base and allows for the continued development of the features I do use. Viewed this way, any new idea for Jamstix can benefit me even if I never use it. Zen!

At least until Ralph codes the new "Jamstix flirts with your girlfriend" feature. Laughing

I would definitely consider upgrades without the samples. I am using DFHS and don't feel a need for 'metal' samples but am intrigued with the player models and styles. The increased download time of 275 mb for the samples is a detraction. I think this is a good idea and would possibly make more purchases.

Funny - I'm facing the exact opposite situation with Jamstix. I just want the sounds! I've been looking for drum samples that sound great, can easily be worked into a mix, and can be triggered in real time when I just sit down at my Trapkat (with my drum sticks) and play. I have some libraries (Giga, Wusik, soundfonts, Ns7), but none have really satisfied me. After hearing the Jamstix2 demos, I'm hooked. Very Happy Don't get me wrong - the AI drumming is great. I just really have no use for it - yet.

I assume that the samples can be mapped to the pads on my Trapkat, and be played in real time, right? If so, then the timing is perfect, as I am also buying Truepianos. So Ralph, please tell me I can use the Jamstix kits as a midi sound module that can be played in real time with midi drum pads. Thanks.

Yes, you can switch JS2 to 'Drum Module Mode' and it will simply play back MIDI drum data received on its input using its audio engine and samples.

Thanks, Ralph. I assume that Drum Module Mode still allows me all of the drum sample/drum kit editing and processing choices that the AI drummer mode does, right? Thanks.
