Ok. Project in Reaper, starts off in 13/8. There are 33 bars of 13/8, and then it goes into 4/4.

Nothing happens. No drumming after 13/8, it is as if Jamstix2 registers the time signature change, and just decides "fuck it, I'm gonna go sleep!" Laughing

Yes, the "allow time sig changes" checkbox is ticked, so this should work, but it isn't.

As far as I can tell, the only solution is to have a second instance, and work out how many 4/4 bars go into 33 bars of 13/8, if it goes in evenly, I can just use the second instance for the 4/4 section.

But I really don't know what's wrong here.

Ok.. second instance just crashes it! So that wont work. I'll have to render the 13/8 instance, then do the 4/4 instance, then render that if I want to go back in 13/8 at another point.

Annoying!

4/8 works, but isn't giving me what I require. I'll see if going from 4/8 to 4/4 works.

Nope. Going into 4/4 from 4/8 doesn't work.

Similarly, using 4/8, but putting a 4/4 groove in there via the groove importer doesn't work either. Neither does using half time groove weights.

You must have one part in JS2 for the first 33 bars and make sure it is set to 13/8 in the part edit screen (click on part length in song sheet). You also must have a separate part after that, which has 4/4 set in the part edit screen.

And, of course, REAPER must also be set to make the time sig change after bar 33.

If you still have trouble, send me the REAPER file.

I've checked your project and I see two problems:

a) You've placed the change to 4/4 at bar 29 in REAPER but JS2 shows the 13/8 part having 8x4=32 bar length so the change should occur at 33.

b) I think REAPER sends incorrect barStartPos info after a time sig change. I can see JS2 jump to bar 100+ instead of bar 33 after the change. I set up the exact same scenario in Sonar and it works flawlessly so I'm tempted to suggest that REAPER may have a barstartpos calculation issue. I'm sure Justin and the Cockos gang will help you with this if you post this on their forum.

Oops! Well, I swear that it wasn't always like that! Laughing

Yeah, I just tried it again, making sure that it definitely started at bar 33 in both Reaper and Jamstix, and again it doesn't work. I'm going to assume this is a Reaper problem and post at the forums there. Cheers Ralph!
