|
The MetalPak expansion Pak for Jamstix 2 is now available. List price is $49 but until 12/31/07 we offer an introductory holiday price of just $39.
This Pak is not just for Metal musicians because its sounds and drummers can be combined with any other Jamstix 2 style with great results.
Click here for more details and demo songs
YOU MUST HAVE JAMSTIX 2.1.4 FOR METALPAK TO WORK PROPERLY!
Modern Metal Kit Sound
- brand-new 275MB kit using Gretsch Renown Maple drums and AA/AAX cymbals
- aggressive hats, tight and punchy kick plus an alternate Porkpie snare
- single output and multi-output kits with ready-to-go Jamstix EQ and compression settings
- can be used with any other Jamstix 2 style, e-drumkits or traditionally via MIDI by the host
Five Metal Styles
- CUSTOM METAL - hand-edit the desired kick/snare pattern and leave the rest up to Jamstix
- DIAL-A-METAL - morphs the groove from half-time all the way to 16th double-bass/quarter snares
- NU METAL - perfect for mainstream nu-metal performances with simple groove controls
- PROG METAL - this one can make a 4/4 sound like an odd (korny?) time signature!
- THRASH METAL - morphs the groove from half-time to double-time madness
Six Metal Drummers
- DANNY, JASON, LARS, MIKE, NEIL, NOAH _________________ Ralph Zeuner

just checked out the quickstart Prog Metal song (Mike drummer), using the new kit but with the 14x7 Rockstar snare (my fave).... left the tempo at 120bpm (i forgot to change it).... and blew me away it did!

| Man, this is exciting stuff. How much tweaking was done to the demos on the main page? |

'Never Sober' & 'Sleepless'
Created part by part in Jamstix 2. No host or MIDI editing of any kind and also no other note editing in the bar editor. Most of the work was selecting the fitting style and drummer and changing brain settings to suit the needs.
Exceptions:
The first groove in 'Never Sober' had a custom kick/snare pattern to match the music that was then saved and used via groove importer. The kick/ride hits in the break section of 'Sleepless' were hand-placed in the JS2 bar editor.
'Inject The Poison' and 'Demo With Danny'
These were completely done by Josh so he'll be able to tell you exactly what he did but from what I understand he likes to edit his own patterns in JS2 and then uses a fitting drummer model. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yea, for Inject the Poison and the jam with danny, I use the silent style because I like to create my own grooves but I've been using Danny as a drummer. Actually both of those songs use Danny. Each drummer has fairly unique characteristics from what I found and you don't have to use 1 drummer or style throughout a whole tune.
Also with those 2 tunes, I used a MB Compressor on the kick and some EQ to bring out the extra clickliness. I didn't really have to do too much more than that, just slight tweaking which I'm pretty sure most people do to samples. _________________ Straight Jacket Sunday, Multiple Personality Disorder coming soon... |

nice demos..
hopefully just one more question.. is there a "speed limit"?.. I'd be really interested in blastbeats (death\black metal) I can't even comprehend how the real guys throw in these monstrous fills at that speed, so was wondering just how much speed the limb control\drummer system can handle. |

Thanks Ralph, great pak.
Not really a metal fan, but like you say, very adaptable to taste in JS2.
All for the price of couple of bottles of cheap wine. _________________ john-studio64

You may eventually run into dropped notes at very high BPMs since we do not model any unusual blast metal techniques but you can get quite high.
If you run into such issues, let me know and we'll get you a tweaked DLL where you can boost the drummers limb speeds. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
