|
|
Hi,
For some reason Jamstix 2 takes a really long time to load up all of its samples. I am talking minutes here. I just loaded up an older song that uses Jamstix 1 and noticed that Jamstix 1 loaded in about 5 seconds or so.
I did change the sample load priority to max (and min) to try and alleviate the problem but it is still the same. Jamstix 2 just pops up the sample loading dialog and each sample takes a few seconds to load.
My guess is that there is some bug in the background priority loading code that causes it to load the samples this slow, even with the slider all the way to max priority.
Oh, and about the sample loading dialog: It is the weirdest popup dialog I have ever seen. Even if I make another app the foreground window, Jamstix 2 insists on putting the sample load dialog on top of everything else, and if I scroll that app, the dialog scrolls with the other app, causing all sorts of weird redraw issues. This, coupled with the super slow loading, makes my computer unusable for the whole time. At least while it loads this slow, can I use my computer for something else in the meantime? Is there a way to disable the popup sample load dialog?

Please repeat the slow loading, close JS2 when it is done and then send me the rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix 2 folder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm getting the exact same behaviour. Several minutes to load all samples on the first instantiation of JS2. After that, it seems faster but I have also been concerned about the pop-up window which nehaves very strangely. I have also set sample load priority to max but it doesn't seem to make any difference. _________________ Core 2 E6600, 2GB RAM, 2x320 SATA II HD
