I find that while a song is playing if I for example rightclick the kick to change the level or pan, the song will continue to play but I loose control.. Space bar won't stop the playback.. Mouse is rendered useless too. Control Alt Del to bring up Task Manager causes the JS GUI to "release" as soon as TM opens.. and control is returned to the mouse and keyboard. When I reopen the JS GUI I see (and hear) the knob spin I did have taken effect. Is this normal? I had the Rock Kit "Big Kit" loaded. I am not trying to load a new kit or even a new kick, just adjusting the paramenters of the one in use causes this. Is it known that playback should be stopped when you want to try something else and I just don't know it?? - Admittedly HIGHLY PROBABLE... Laughing

Thanks - Sid

Very odd. Is this with Jamstix 2.1?

Hi Sid & Ralph

Just tried that combination of actions in C4.1/JS2.1 and didn't experience any problems.

It was a new project in 4.1

regards

Yes.. JS 2.1 and Cubase 4.1.. The project was initially started as a Cubase 4.0.3 file but has since been save as a 4.1 file. Once yesterday a similar thing happened.. Song was playing and JS was active but the gui was closed.. I clicked to open the GUI during playback and it did appear on the screen but I lost mouse and spacebar control. after a few minutes I pressed CTRL-ALT-Del and task manager shows JS as not responding.. I ended task and cubase poofed away.. It was with the same "Big Kit" if that matters.. As if while the song is playing it takes a long time to load JS.. This was with the AMD machine in my sig.. I'll try it here at home in a little while.. Both have 2 gigs of memory. No other VSTis running in the project.. Maybe 25 audio tracks and only UAD plugs being used.

'Big Kit' does load a lot of samples. Please go to the Options tab and set the the sound load priority all the way right. See if this helps. If not, please send me the file rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix 2 folder.

Ok.. Will do Ralph.. I just tried it on my intel system at home and it works fine.. I slid the sound load priority to the right first and it worked like a charm.. I'll try it on the AMD system when I get back over to the studio and post back.. Thanks again, Ralph..
