Hi, all. After hearing a lot about Jamstiz, I decided to come take a look and I'm intrigued.

I'm currently using EZ Drummer, and am pretty happy with it, but I LOVE the idea of being able to create variations on patterns -- or just having patterns and variations create themselves. To me, that alone may be worth the $99 price.

So I guess I'm wondering how Jamstix compares to -- or even works with -- EZ Drummer? If, for whatever reason, I still liked the EZD sounds better, how easy would it be for me to create or tweak grooves in Jamstix and then use with EZD?

I'm going to try and download the demo when I have some time to spend with it, but I thought I'd get some feedback beforehand. Let me know your thoughts, advice, tips, etc. Thanks!

J

Download the demo, pick a quickstart song when prompted and the go to 'Kit', click 'Load' and select EZDrummer from the list. This will cause JS2 to load EZDrummer into itself (it will ask you once for the location of the ezdrummer.dll) and then drive it as if it was part of Jamstix 2. It's full integration.

As you explore the demo, we'll be happy to help with any questions or issues you may have.

Very cool! Do I need any specialized drum maps for the different EZD kits or does it essentially read from EZD automatically?

I've been looking for a good beat constructiontool and am excited by what Jamstix appears to offer. Thanks for the quick reply.

When you load the EZDrummer kit that comes with Jamstix 2, it will load a specific kit into EZD. There is an 'Edit' button in the Jamstix 2 kit window that you can always use to bring up the EZD interface to change the kit as needed. When you save a kit or song in Jamstix 2 (or your host), the subhosted EZD always gets saved as well.
