|
|
I've installed Jamstix 2 (XL), the stock kit as well as all three of the XL files and the update (everything on my download page).
I decided to throw it into plain sampler mode just to check out the sounds of the kits I just bought. Went straight for the "Rock" section, and loaded the first option; The Big Kit. Upon loading, I see a message in red telling me that I'm missing 2 sounds. Huh? What? I just installed all the files, how am I missing sounds?
I went through all the rock kits and four kits are missing sounds!
Big Kit: missing China -18" and Splash -10"
Hard kit" missing China -18"
Mapex dry kit: missing Clap DP2 CS and Kick -22" CSDP2
Piccolo kit: missing China -12", China -18", Crash 16" HHX and Splash -10"
I tried reinstalling the kit files. Same thing. Am I the only one who's bought the XL pack and is missing these files? Could I have done something wrong to make those few files go missing? If my kit files were corrupt I'd assume none of the sounds would have been extracted....? Am I in for more of these messages when I start loading up kits from the other (not rock) categories? Most importantly, what procedure should I follow to get these missing files so I have complete kits?
This aint exactly how I was planning to spend my first session with JS2. Well, now that this is done, I guess I'll load up one of the kits with all the files and start having some fun! |

Those files are from the JS1 stock kit. We'll update the kit files soon to fix this for those who do not own the JS1 sounds. You can also fix the kits yourself by assigning other sounds to those slots.
Sorry for the inconvenience! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

That'd be cool. I figured I'd probably just end up using JS2 to drive my favorite Kontakt2 drumkit, but I really do dig the sounds of the JS2 kits. Coulda sworn two of the kits I mentioned had "XL" in the title though (figured all the sounds should be in the XL installation files).
I'll keep an eye out for the update.
Thanks
Rob
Edit: Oh, you mean you'll fix it so the kits point to different sounds...? Yeah, I can do that myself. You prolly still should fix that asap for your next customers though (first impressions are everything to some people). |

Hey Ralph, now that I've played with Jamstix2 for awhile, I have to say that even if Jamstix2 came with no drumkits at all (if I could only power 3rd party drums with it), I still wouldn't trade it for anything. The different ways I can program original drum parts (as easily or as deeply as I want) with this app is absolutely stunning. For someone like me who hates using premade midi loops, Jamstix 2 has got to be the most powerful (and fun) tool out there for creating my own.
The included drumkits are a nice...really nice...bonus.
Thanks man!
