This is just probably just due to my inexperience with Jamstix, but I'm having a problem with a couple of areas. I'm using Jamstix w/ NTrack 3.3 and I can't seem to preview Jamstix 1 fills that I'm using with the import function.
Also, after I ran the tracks once, I can't use the Jamstix "rewind one bar" function. If I save, close the program, and reload it seems to work. But after I've hit play in Ntrack, the rewind/fastforward in Jamstix seems to freeze and even if I rewind in Ntrack I can't rewind on a bar by bar basis in Jamstix. Any input on how to address these two issues would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,

We haven't tested with n-Track but try unlocking JS from the host with the lock icon. If you continue to have these issues then let me know and I'll see if we can do some testing with n-Track here. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry it took me so long to get a reply posted, but what with the honey-do's, trick or treating, kid's karate classes, yardwork, football, work , etc etc etc, I'm just now getting a chance to give your suggestion a whirl. I'll get back to your if it doesn't work.
thanks,
Jeff Appleton
p.s. yes, the timestamp is right, it's midnight on All Hallows Eve and I'm just now getting a few minutes for myself. Ahhhh, to be a batchelor again....... |

Hey Ralph,
Tried the lock/unlock option in a variety of configurations last night with no success. It seems as if the only way I can get the rewind enabled is to totally close down Jamstix, rewind NTrack and then re-open Jamstix. Rewind/FF then works until the first time I play the track. After that rewind/ff options are no longer functioning and I can't enable them. Makes it kinda hard to do editing and try different drumming options. I'm using vs. 3.3 of Ntrack and the latest update of Jamstix.

We'll take a look at that but it seems as if n-Track is acting different from all other hosts since this works fine in Cubase, Sonar, REAPER etc. etc.... _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
Was just wondering if you'd ever come up with a solution to the rewind N-Track rewind issue? I've updated to the most current N-Track version I'm authorized for (ver 4.0.4) but I'm still not able to use the ff and rewind buttons in Jamstix. The only way I can actually move between parts is to use the slider thats located in the staff tablature. It's workable, but very very touchy and it sure would be a lot easier if I could simply click on a part that I wanted to edit.
Also, with this version of N-Track, is it possible to see each different drum kit part (i.e. snare, kick, hi-hat, etc etc) in the mixer so I can edit and adust volumes and eq'ing? If so, could you give me a rundown on how to do so?
many thanks,
Jeff Appleton |

I can't duplicate the problem. I am using the n-Track demo 5.1.1 and am adding Jamstix 2 via 'Add Channel'->'Add New Instrument Channel'->'VSTi'->Jamstix2. Everything works as with any other host. If n-Track is stopped I can use all JS2 transport buttons or click parts to jump around.
Concerning multiple output routing in n-Track, please check with the folks in the fasoft forum or consult the n-Track documentation. This is not Jamstix-specific, anything concerning "multiple VSTi audio outputs" will suffice. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
