We do plan on extending the style capabilities with Jamstix 2 next year.
We are also planning a "JamPercussion" module with much greater range and flexibility than the Jamstix Percussion.

Also, would be nice to be able to replace the sample sets in the internal drum machine with one's own hits (or maybe this is possible?)

We are planning a wave import function for new kits but of course there is always the free rcgaudio soundfont player. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Please don't nail us down on this, yet! It's a proposal and it will shift with the needs of JamBace. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm in for these features too. If well implemented I would buy the product. This is as usual the stephchild of such products.
The harshness of the ride cymbals made me not buy BFD. They sounded too typically sampled to me. Not any better then NSKit free. I bought Battery 2 instead.
Programming swing rhythms by hand as I do now is quite some work though (as is any good rhythm part for that matter) and I would gladly use a software like Jamstix IF good jazz sounds and rhythms where present. Good sounds don't mean mainly a sizzle cymbal, but also a good regular jazz ride with enough variation and velocity levels.
Most sampled rides tend to sound ennoying after a short time and are not suited soundwise to play jazz on / with it.

You can use an external drum VSTi or sampler like HALion or Kontakt. Or am I missing something? |
