I use Jamstix 1.81 in AcidPro 6 as vsti insert.
2 questions.
1. I have recently begun using automation envelopes with jamstix...bringing percussion, power play, ride, cymbals, in and out, as well as velocity and volume changes.
When I make the jamstix window active to view the arranger as the song plays there is little to no movement on screen and at times I lose control of acid until after the song ends and jamstix decides to stop playing.
Any suggestions??
2. I have a completed jamstix arrangement and was happy with everything. I added another MIDI track to the outro of the song and then jamstix added some fills that I do not want. I have jamstix in manual mode and have reset what it added and tried to lock that and still when I play through again jamstix changes adds more fills again. I was under the impression that if I lock a cell it will not change. What should I do to make sure jamstix only plays the selected rhythm for that cell and not add any fills, etc. ??
thanks

Very odd. Haven't heard of this before. We'll see if we can come up with a possible reason...

Set the 'Fill Frequency' slider in the jam tab to zero (all the way left) and delete the existing unwanted fills by right-clicking on the bar(s) and choosing 'Reset' in the fill selector. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Update...
I changed the fill slider as suggested but could then not get jamstix to play at all.... I just deleted the instance of jamstix (although I had automation envelopes of the jamstix bus track for vel, vol, powerplay, ride, cymbals, maybe one more...can't recall) and reinserted into the project. By the way, I was only using one rhythmn.
The new instance is doing fine (no envelopes yet).
When I have the time... my plan is to redo the envelopes one by one until I notice a performance change. I don't know what else would have tipped the scales to "overload". I have Kontakt 2 with seven instruments loaded and one instance of Absynth 4 in the same project. Again, up until this last modification, the problem only occured when I made the Jamstix window active for modifications....
This is the first "problem" I have run into using your product. |

I inserted a mute and a volume envelope on the jamstix bus and appeared to have no problems. I then inserted a velocity automation envelope on the bus and started having the same problem.
I recall on a previous project while I was veiwing the arrangement to audit/change fills, jamstix would not track with the host. It would start and stop. I would click on the horizontal slide bar of jamstix and it would jump to the current measure but would not continue to track.
I am at a loss. Have you determined anything on your end?

Try putting Jamstix 1.81 in 'Manual Jam' mode. Also, please send me the rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix folder right after replicating the issue.
Also, we are not developing Jamstix 1.81 any further since the release of Jamstix 2 in August. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

rzdlog.txt sent
edit...ignore the first rzdlog.txt/email...figured out what I did with the "fills" situation. I will replicate the automation envelope problem asap and then send rzdlog. |
