I'm trying out the Usine demo: http://www.sensomusic.com
I've got a patch with Jamstix, Some "Create Midi" message gadgets, and some buttons. The buttons cause the Create Midi to send program changes. This works fine. With Liveloops enabled, pushing the buttons Jamstix will switch to the appropriate "Part Name", at the appropriate time.
Unfortunately, Jamstix stops making drum sounds when it switches. I can see the pattern advancing on the beats, there's notes there it should be playing. And every few measures there will sometimes be a cymbal crash and BD hit on the 1.
Switching to the "Drum Kit" view I can hit the individual drums and hear them, so the sampler appears to be working.
It seems to get worst if I set the repetitions for a part to something high - like 200.
Anybody try Usine yet? It looks like it has great potential.
Thanks, |

Please update to Jamstix 2.0.19 RC11 and see if the problem persists. If so, send me the file rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix 2 folder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralf,
I'm still running the demo (trying to find the right host)
The demo's revision.html shows:
Version 2.0.18 9/14/2007
Is there a demo for 2.0.19 RC11? |

I tried the new demo Version 2.1.0 10/25/2007
and it has the same issue.
It must be Usine.
Usine is a very interesting program otherwise.
One of the most flexible I've seen. |

I picked up VSTHost Slavery (VSTHostSS)
I put Jamstix in VSTHostSS
I put legree VST in Usine
Same behavior. I punch a button to send PC 8 it jumps to "Part 6" but no sound, only a crash/BD hit on 1. I punch PC 1, it jumps back to "Part 1" and plays normal. Switching back to 6 - it stops.
It's really odd. Now I'm not sure how can be Usine. |

Those are just not hosts we test with so I can't help with that. Please try REAPER, which we test with and which has an unrestricted demo version. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK
Tried it with Reaper, and Live loops work fine.
Tried it with Reaper + Legree/VSTHostSS and it worked remote to VSThost fine fine. So I guess it is Usine.
What is the list of hosts that you test with? So I can expect which will actually work with Jamstix, and avoid the "works with XXX - try that".
Reaper is very good, except TAP is by mouse clicking on the BPM button and there is no remote control of it. Maybe eventually it will get enhanced, but I'm sure it's a low priority for most users.
Of all the "tested with hosts" I'd like to find which one works best for me.
thanks, |

Jamstix has been successfully tested in these hosts. However, since hosts and Jamstix can be used in myriads of ways, make sure to test drive the demo in your specific environment:
Cubase SX2, SX3, Cubase 4
Sonar 3 and up
Ableton Live 5 and up
Tracktion 2 and higher
FL Studio 5 and higher
REAPER
n-Track
Orion Platinum 5.5
Samplitude 7 and higher
Chainer
energyXT 1.4
brainspawn Forte
Plogue Bidule
MiniHost
