i have a midi file 14 bars long with just snare and kick. it would be cool to have jamstix do the cymbal work and the fills and accents. but when i import it, and switch to carter, jamstix doesnt add any cymbals. maybe i should be saved as a groove? but then grooves can only be 1 bar long correct?

thanks proto

Make sure you have 2.0.19-RC9 and then do this:

- load the 8th Rock style and Carter
- add a 'Groove Importer' via the brain menu
- set it to MIDI and import your MID file
- click on KICK and SNARE in the brain and disable them

You should now get a mix of your kick/snare groove and the 8th rock hihat and Carters accents and habits.

Of course you can load any other style than 8th Rock if you so desire.

Here is also a video to get an idea of how to combine pre-existing grooves and JS2 styles in general:

very cool ralph!
ok what i'm noticing is that the hi hats are all 16th notes. if i turn hihat q all the way left, all hihats disappear. - thats good. but if i adjust hi hat q, which i assume to be quarter notes? i get solid 16th notes hi hats.

thanks
p

Very odd. Can you do a 'Save Song' in the song sheet menu and send me the file?
