I've just installed my new Jamstix 2.
I've recordered a drum audio line from a Zoom MRT in Cubase Sx.
I've set the M8 plugin.
I've adjusted the volume trim to see M8 working.
I press play...... and i heard a drunk drummer stomping and rolling on his kick, hats, snares...
What i can do to convince the Jamstix 2 to correctly understand a Audio Jam ?
The PDF Help don't support me much.... (as my english... ) |

Hi Molpie
As I understand it the audio M8 vst plugin provides jamstix with mainly volume data to allow the brain to control the dynamics of the drummer and change the playing to suit the song.
To get a suitable rhythm, you need to select a style and a drummer.
If your song has a structure, entering the arrangement will automatically provide fills in the appropriate places.
I did what you have done in the first instance, then thought that Jamstix probably needed some more information to do it's job.
This should get you going, Im sure some others can give a better explaination.
Hope this helps

Feeding a drum audio track to Jamstix 2 makes no sense as Steve pointed out.
Jamstix 2 is synchronized with your host tempo and time/sig so you'll want to set those correctly and then load a fitting quickstart (i.e. 'Song 6/8 Blues)'. Keep Jamstix in 'Jam No Input' mode unless you have a submix or lead instrument audio track that you want JS2 to adjust its playing to. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks very much to all of u for ur reply, Ralph and stevel.
I need some specification more:
| Quote: | | Jamstix 2 is synchronized with your host tempo and time/sig |
But what if my audio record are exactly synchronized with the host (SX) tempo and time/sig ? J2 should understand the intro, verse, chorus and ending in the drum record ?
I guess that cause i think that if the brain can understand a song structure (chord, riff...) all the more so should understand the simpliest beat line... but probably i'm wrong....
For the moment i thank u again; i need some other experiment to understand exactly what the software can or cannot do... and that hang my creativity

There is no way for any software to reliably detect intro, verse, chorus and ending in a drum audio recording.
Audio analysis in JS2 is limited to volume analysis and peak detection. Chord recognition/analysis is only done in MIDI jam mode. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

By this do you mean a pre-recorded track? It can also jam to live input though right? |
