Yea, so far that is kind of how I feel too. I actually I like both JS1 and JS2 for different reasons. Its kind of unfortunate that JS1 has been discontinued to be replaced by JS2, when in reality they are almost like completely seperate products and both useable for different ways of working. But asi es la vida....from a practical standpoint...just need to keep getting my head wrapped around the new one.

Update...

Okay... I'm starting to get this and I'm starting to see the true power... The key? Finding the lock button on the bar editor. I can set a basic pattern and then lock that bar down and allow the brain do what it wants with the rest... It lets me stay in the command seat and lock down what I want...

I still think I prefer the arrangement screen to the song concept but that too is starting to make sense. It would be nice to integrate (or at least give a choice) some of the interface from JS1 with JS2.

Darcy

Hi darcyb62

I have forced myself to see the Timeline as the arrangement screen, which is really very similar in concept, but with more options and distractions.

So many choices in JS2, but I still use JS1, especially importing some of the great fills into JS2.

How do you import the fills from JS1 into JS2?

Hi
Just Right click on the bar in the timeline, menu appears with Import JS1 fills.

yea i to like the js1 format i have both what i do is do my programming in js1 as it is so much easier to work with and i use js2 as a sound module for js1 sometimes i will create a pattern in js1 and work with it in js2 works pretty good for me i am just waiting for the day that i can record notes directly into js2 via a keyboard like js1 with the learn button then i will probably use js2 more ALSO CAN YOU CREATE YOUR OWN DRUM KITS IN JS2 AND SAVE THEM. When JS2 appeared I also felt I would keep JS1 around. I liked the simple pattern editing there. But with the advent of Jamstix Classic drummer I have no need for that anymore.
