I have to chime in once again to say BIG THANK YOU RALPH for all your continuous efforts.
And BTW: It´s very nice to see what pleasant community you have been able to build up here, which doesn´t come by default and must be because you are a really nice guy I suppose.
All in all: It´s fun to be here. Smile

I noticed that, too. People in this forum are very courteous and mature. I haven't had to censor a single message, yet. No flame wars, no trolling, nothing. That's really rare these days!

That's because you have delivered an outstanding product and provided realistic and dependable updates in a timely manner. Unlike many other players in the plugin (and host) markets these days....[Insert Company Here]

It's not hard really - to make folks happy...it's all about good communication and doing what you say you are going to do. You have these two processes down cold.

My only small complaint is due to your super human coding - I have to download twenty betas a day to keep myself on the bleeding edge! Smile

Keep up the great work.

Cheers!

Hi Ralph,
Thanks! Just tested out the latest version and there are 2 questions/issues. As alwats, apologies if I missed a post or this is user error:

1. I loaded a project that had jamstix using DR-008 kit, and got this message before it crashed or loaded oddly:

Quote:
Doesn't appear to be a DR-008 Settings chunk

I tried several times, and on the 4th time it loaded, but did not pass audio. I had to reload DR-008 kit

2. I was trying to automate a switch from hihat to ride in the choruses. I tried to use automation in Cubase SX2. Here is what I did:

1. Enabled "write" mode in Cubase
2. Played song
3. For chorus, I manually change deselect "Power Ride" option and select "Always Ride" in Rhythm window
4. Re-selected "Power Ride" when verse returned
5. Enable "Read" mode in Cubase
6. Yet, when I playback there is no change. That is, it stays on the hi hat.

Note: manual mode and play input are both selected

Any hel is appreciated - I really want to be able to control when I go to ride. Smile

That's an odd one but if you reload the DR-008 kit and then save the project it should be fine on the next load.

3. For chorus, I manually change deselect "Power Ride" option and select "Always Ride" in Rhythm window

It sounds like we may have automation write issues. It is a lot easier to use envelopes instead of the write/read + manual switch.

Try this:

- Open automation options for Jamstix and select 'Power Play'
- make sure power ride is active
- draw an envelope that rises over 50% where you want the ride and drops below 50% when you don't

Hope this helps!

Hey Ralph,
I'll try that, but can I assume that it is just a work-around until the automation issues is addressed? I'd like to be able to kick ride in and out independed of velocity or "power play."

Am I missing something? Is there a better way to do that?

Thanks!
Dan

Of course you can also use the 'Always Ride' parameter the same way. Btw, you do not have to disable 'Power Ride' for this to work.

Hi Ralph. I haven't had time to check the latest update yet. I was wondering if you were still into implementing the ability to create bars of powerplay in the arranger as you do with fills or intros. Don't mean to bug you about it.

Well, for now we have added the 'PowerPlay' automation parameter that will do that nicely.

Thanks from me, too. Smoother GUI now, I like it.
Is it possible to reset the trigger key for Fill/Intro/End (although it could be assigned to a key out of the playing range at 8th octave permanently) ?
This is just a minor request for a next major update.

Jamstix is a wonderful plugin. I think it will be nominated as VSTi of the year Very Happy

Thanks for your kind words! We do owe you resets on all key selectors and we will deliver them soon. Until then, you can set the corresponding ini values to -1 manually if need be.
