For those interested, I have updated the Nihilistic skin to include compatibility with JS 2.1.3-RC1.

History
-------
v0.11 - Added 2.1.3-RC1 compatibility, added store icon, improved menu icon, changed to full opacity for dcBar
v0.1 - First public beta release

Below you see 5 screen shots showing the Fill, Groove, Sounds, Kit & Mixer window of JS 2.1. The current skinning structure is still being developed, so there are some design issues here and there. But most of them are minor, and should not really interfere while using the skin. There is a list of things that I would like to improve, e.g. some odd transparencies, some minor repositioning and color problems of text & objects. I hope to be able to fix these issues in the future when more skinning features are available in Jamstix 2.

If you want to try it out, here is the link. You need Jamstix version 2.1.3-RC1 or higher! Included in the zip file is a brief explanation of the various new icons. Have fun.

Lucky

Well, I have to say it looks quite cool! But I don't know if I would use it: I would have to actually test it to see if I like it or not. But I sure do like to the totally different feel you gave it!

Although features/capabilities are most important to me, I like that the above skin *starts* to approach the iZotope Ozone 3 interface -- which is really cosmic, and very usable (and worth checking out at izotope.com if you haven't seen it)...

Here are a few new screen shots of the skin under construction. I have included all functionality plus added new icons for the sounds. Again, not everything you see is how I ultimately would want it, and even as I type this our man has given me new info on how to reposition some stuff.

I will try to design a suitable knob.

It's getting better and better. I like your concept of simplifying the GUI.

Thanks! Here is another teaser showing the midi mapper. I also did some more cleaning up of the main interface. All the possible buttons and functions of the main interface are converted now and nicely positioned.

I am waiting for Ralph to release the next RC with some more skinning possibilities so I can finish the main interface and tweak the previous posted SoundWindow. Now I 'only' need to design a suitable knob.

Here is a screen shot of the Visual Kit Window, which I skinned and cleaned up a bit. Can't change the watch for now. More to follow...

PS: If only Ralph would make it possible to have this window open next to the main window, would be kind of cool.

Another screen shot showing the main interface almost fully tweaked, the new skinned power knob and the retro JS1 style in kinky colors.

No reCompostion or trash bottons? I add or delete fills randomly. I there some way you do that without the COMP and TRASH bottons?

They are all there, but it might take a bit getting used to because of the completely new look.

* The delete button is the orange rectangle with the cross, right above the bar window. The others shown are Loop Bar (green rectangle) and Lock Bar (pink rectangle) plus the 3 groove modifiers.
* The recompose button is the blue rectangle right above the song window, with the bar only toggle right next to it (see the screen shot below of the JS1 style). I was/am struggling a bit with where to put these two icons, as recompose can be song or bar related... (Ideally you should have 2 recompose buttons, one for the bar and one for the part, each located at their specific window.)

For those interested, here is the proposed color & graphic coding for the various sounds. This was a tradeoff between clarity and Christmas... Might be tweaked further in the future.
