I write drum parts from scratch.
during the verse I have closed HH, but I want half open HH during the chorus.
How do I get JS2 to chg to half open HH? |

There are to ways:
a) Set Power Hand to 'Semi Hats' and move the Min Velocity slider down so it kicks in
b) Add an envelope for MIDI controller 4 in the Jamstix 2 MIDI track of your host and use the envelope to control hihat openness throughout your song as needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It would seem to make sense, since there is more than one degree of openness for semi hats, that you should be able to choose them here.

Can some Cubase4 user tell me how to do this?
Thanks,

| Yes - I also need to dive into Sonar to figure out how to: "Add an envelope for MIDI controller 4 in the Jamstix 2 MIDI track of your host and use the envelope to control hihat openness throughout your song as needed." I guess I never tried to add an envelope to a Sonar MIDI track before (just audio tracks), so I'm not certain at this time whether that's feasible... |

It's easy in Sonar, just right-click on the Jamstix 2 MIDI track, choose 'Create Envelope' and 'MIDI'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I also make adjustments tot he HH in the bar editor. If you click on the HH inthe bar a window opens with the different sounds available to the limb the HH is on. At the top you will see a pic of the HH. You can click and drag the degree of openness to the individual hit here. I like this since I do not always want the exact same openness on every hit. _________________ Tom |
