i'd like to use an envelope to control HH openess but the only parameters that show up for JS2 in REAPER are:

power level
reduction
timing
bypass

I guess JS2 is not reporting them all to REAPER. BTW, all parameters for JS1 show up in REAPER.

Hihat openness is controlled via MIDI Controller #4.

The reason JS2 has a short list of VST automation parameters is that it allows you mapping of MIDI controllers as needed. Right-click on a control and, if it can be mapped, the mapping dialog will open.

This cannot be done via VST automation because different styles/drummers have different controls but VST auto requires a static param list.

Ralph - Couldn't a complete list of all VST automation paramaters which are used by all the styles/drummers be maintained (and simply appended to as future additions dictate) -- so that envelopes could be used for everything?
