Ralph,i´m only trying my JS2 now, sure there´s a lot of new things to learn, but for now my 1st question is:
I open JS2 in Reaper and get this message when i open its GUI and load the Jazz brush kit XL
_13 sounds missing_
same thing for most of other kits,...some more others less but seems to have always some sounds missing
What is this?
Thanks! |

I guess I can answer this riddle. The XL "kit" is built up from all JS1 kits and the new stock Kit for JS2, making it the JS2 XL kit. If you don't have that one, you can't load XL kits - well... you can, but you'll get missing instruments, as you pointed out yourself.
Of course I can be wrong in that section, but it's how I understood it as former JS1 user who only upgraded to the regular JS2 and not the XL version. |

After instal of Jamstix 2 VSTi plugin, then i instaled
STEP #3 - DRUM KIT DOWNLOAD
This will install the stock drum kit for Jamstix 2. Download and install using the "Install Pak" button in the Jamstix 2 kit screen.
-----> Download Stock Kit (86MB)
opened it in Reaper and also in Savihost,..
Thansk all for sujestions |

Like I said, if you have only bought Jamstix 2 and not the XL version, but don't have the elder packs then to make it into a XL version, you'll miss out samples on the long shot, as the presets weren't changed for the "normal version".
If you however have the XL version, then you should have three files that you need to install in order to have all kits. Then again, the posted textpart indicates that you only got the regular edition. |

I bought the All-Pack JS1 on the group buy,sometime ago,and with that,i became entitled to JS2.
So,if JS1 has all the kits,XL included,i should have all kits avaiable now for JS2,..
..,if you are correct,i have the JS2 but not its XL extended version,?
Thanks mate! |

Same here - you could have gone for XL, too. But then again - you didn't need to.

To quote Te'alc from Stargate SG-1: In-deed.

Well yes and no. You have indeed only JS2 "regular edition". But iif you have all packs from JS1 (DrumPak 1&2, Snare Pak, Brush Pak, ePak) and the stock kit from JS2, that makes you a JS2 XL owner automatically, as the new stock kit and the former available packs seperately are bundled together as the new XL pack "now".
If you're still missing sounds however, try to reinstall everything new, and don't forget to update. If the problem still exists, try it once more in here - and if Ralph doesn't respond, send him a mail directly in case he overlooked it at the boards. |

Saurez, install your BrushPak (and maybe all other JS1 Paks for good measure) via the 'Install Pak' option in JS2. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have the same issues, Ralph. Though the XL banks seem okay, but half of the old JS1 kits have missing sounds. Most notably the Crash 16" HHX, Splash 10", China 12" and 18", Snare Sidestick - 14" Stage Custom, etc. (Programm "Jam Squealer" among Snarepak is the best: misses 24 sounds: Kick 22" Standard, Hihi Closed 14", Crash 18" Custom A, Crash 16", Tom 8", Tom 14", Tom Bounce 8", 10", 12", 14" and 16", Tom - 8", 10", 12" and 16", Hihat Foot 14", Ride 20" Med-Heavy, Splash 8", China 12", Splash 10", China 19", Hihat Open 14", Hihat Half Open 14", Snare Sidestick 14" Metal, Ride Bell 20" Med-Heavy --> and they all don't show up in the load sound window!)
That sure might be due to the transition, but another thing that eludes me... they don't even show up in the sound-choose window. Also only like 3 kicks from the old Pak's, 2 (or so) from JS2, the rest is all ePak.
Is there a bug involved, or where there really that less kicks in all those packs? And then... where did the crashes mentioned further go? |

They are all JS1 stock kit sounds. If they exists in your JS1 installation but JS2 cannot 'see' them then you should copy all the *.rzd files from your JS1 'samples' folder to your JS2 'sounds' folder. This will ensure that JS2 can find the samples. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Stock kit... did I even install the JS1 stock kit? *hm...*
Oh, heh... aparantly not, as it's the "data setup" file for JS1. If I'd do that now, I'd overwrite all JS2 settings and sounds. Tricky, tricky, tricky... Or does it install into a seperate folder? *hm... headscratch*
Is it maybe possible to provide just the JS1 stock kit seperately for those who upgraded from JS1 to JS2 "regular"? This'd help a lot and I don't have to throw some risky moves here.
If not, I just have to test around what's possible and what's not. Worst case is that I have to reinstall JS2. |

Just install the data setup (JS1 stock kits) into a dummy folder then copy all the *.rzd files in the 'samples' folder of the dummy folder to the 'sounds' folder of JS2. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
