The song title (Tribute To Syd)explains itself. This song was actually done with Jamstix1. JS2 is so much better.

Steve--

I'm really impressed. Great playing and perfect production. You have the Floyd-esque sound down. Any chance you can give us a little insight into your synths and other plugins used? I'd love to be able to get even somewhat close to the sound you've achieved.

Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for the encouraging words. Well, the synth sounds consist of, one instance of daOrgan, one instance of Crazy Diamonds, one instance ofCheeze Machine, and V Sampler with a pad called Apocalyse Vox. Guitars are a Strat, a Tele, an Epiphone Dot on the Ebow part, an old Guild acoustic, and a cheap Jackson bass. Amps were Pod XTL into a Marshall power amp and 2x12 cab, and a Marshall JMP1 thru a Marshall power amp and 2x12 cab. One SM57 mic on the cab. Bass was direct using Izotopes Trash for the bass sound. The drummer was Jamstix 1. At first I loaded EZ drummer into Jamstix, but the Jamstix drums sounded more vintage, which is what I was after. All this was recorded into Cubase SX. Various plugins (compressors, eq, etc) The big reverb on the guitars was Glaceverb. Plugins on the Master bus were PSP Mixsaturator, into GeorgeYohngs W1 Limiter, no eq. I did final eq with Har-Bal. That's about it.

Just wanted to add that this is really awesome stuff, production- song- and playing- wise.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy it immensely.
I´m hoping for more to come.

Wow, makes me glad I leaned into my Santana influence rather than my Gilmore influence on my tunes! (there are no green with envy emoticons...)

Great work, all around. That friend request will be me....

Well, I'm joining the party late, but that kicks. I really like the three VSTi synths (esp. at the price) - the sounds are really close to what they're supposed to be. And you use them well.

Maybe you could convince D. Gilmour to do some vocals! Very Happy
