hello everyone...
quick qeustion on JamStix
i.e. is it GM compatible??
Now i mean not just snares, kicks etc i mean tambourines, maracas whatever the hell is in a standard GM drum kit...
i want to read in Standard Midi Files and create backing tracks for live drum use really quickly
So if the SMF is reading in patterns with shakers and all sorts aswell will i hear them too with Jamstix?? I do with my crappy Wavetable synth on the soundcard but the quality SUCKS! of course...
cheers

Jamstix does NOT offer the whole sound spectrum as defined in GM (neither do EZDrummer, BFD, DFHS, Addictive Drums...).
If you simply want to play back GM MIDI drum files at a higher quality than a standard sound card, I'd recommend you get the free sfz soundfont player and google for free GM drum soundfonts, many of which sound a lot better than the sound card.
However, those soundfonts won't have drums that sound as good as JS2... _________________ Ralph Zeuner
