|
|
I can usually only get a few minutes of JamStix 2 before it drops out in Sonar 6. The only way to recover is to shut Sonar down and restart.
Also, no matter that I've re-installed my drum packs, I'm missing sounds. Mainly in the kits with (XL) at the end of their names. Any ideas?
Thanks all.

I am seeing the same, athough maybe I can last a little longer in Sonar than a few min, but I lotsa pop / clicks etc. none of my other plugs give me this trouble.
Sorry this isn't a solution to your prob Cud, but I thought maybe you'd like some company. |

The (XL) kits require you to have either the XL Pak or all existing JS1 Paks.
Concerning the drop-outs: please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix 2 folder so I can help you get that fixed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph, I'll send you the rzdlog when I get home. As far as the XL Pak is concerned, should I be seeing those kits if I don't own the paks?
I believe, aside from buying JS1, I have the Epak and one other pak, and of course JS2. |

If you have JS1 and the Paks installed then JS2 automatically sees those sounds and uses them. There are 5 original Paks so if you only own a few then some (XL) kits will show missing sounds.
You can always go to the kit editor and point the missing sounds to sounds you have. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph. Just wanted to make sure nothing was amiss. |

| Just thought I'd update this thread for others in the same boat. I've just tried version 2.0.19RC5 and it hasn't been resolved. I consistently get a drop out at bar 47 at 1:46. Every time. |

| I wonder if its the same thing as my recent post. I am getting pops/clicks in Sonar 6/7 with JS2. It isn't too hard to push the system to cause an audio drop out. |

Can you send me an example project in Sonar 6 format? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Chiming in -- I seem to be having the same type of problems as the others here with Sonar -- RC5 snare and kick are missing output (I load an external DLL and don't get any notes no matter what I change the key out to) and drums drop out completely after 30-40 bars. I've gone back to 2.0.16 so at least I can play around with my drums. |

I'll send you the project as soon as I get home Ralph.

Please repeat the problem with RC5 (you can just keep both DLLs and rename them to switch between 2.0.16 and 19-RC5) and do so with 'Full Debug Log' checked in 'Options'. After that, please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix 2 folder. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just thought I'd update this thread with some progress I made tonight. Here are the following changes I made:
1) Updated Sonar from 6 to 6.2 and then 6.2.1
2) Switched from WMD/K to ASIO driver in Sonar. Pretty obvious I know but I hadn't checked.
3) Bit depth went from 16 to 24 (the default with ASIO).
4) Sample rate went from 44100 to 48000
The result is that I don't get any drop outs in bar 46 of any of the quickstart songs. I still get a dropout in a song that uses three bars that I created. In fact, the dropout occurs in bar 13 instead of 46. I'm going to try creating a new project and add those bars anew.
I'll follow up when I've done that.
Thanks.

Arrrgh! Well, I decided to start with a clean slate so that I could give you a detailed, step-by-step report, so I uninstalled JS2, deleted all the registry entries, deleted all the files in the JS2 directory, rebooted, reloaded Sonar to have it release the scanned JS entries, quit Sonar, installed the original JS2 release, started Sonar, installed all the sample packs, created a new test sequence, ran it, exited Sonar, installed RC5, started Sonar, created another new sequence, loaded the same quickstart rock jam that was exhibiting the problems I had described, ran it, and . . . no problems! All the drums played, and there were no dropouts. I loaded up a saved sequence and it also had no problems. Grrrr. I guess I should have just left it as it was and sent in the log. Next time, as soon as I have a problem, I'll just send in the debug log and not change anything.
BTW, that previous problem I had with the JS window going blank doesn't happen when the new skins are selected. It still happens with the original skin though. |
