|
|
I have song with a few different parts. Now instead of making a song in the songsheet I'd rather enable the right part using Live loops. But... how does it work? I enable Live loop by clicking on that icon, but the parts keep on playing as normal... And I don't know how to change parts with MIDI because (which is something else I can'f figure out) the only controller I can select (using Sonar) is the one for power. There are no options for controller/RPN/NRPN and so on... As it is I can ONLY influence Power with envelopes or CC and nothing more.
In short: I am confused... |

To change between parts, you send the Program Change midi command with the value being the part you want to trigger.
So for part 1: PC=1
part 2: PC=2
etc.
Keep in mind that the looping starts upon receive of the first midi trigger. So if you have part 1 with 4 reps, and JS2 finishes with part 1, it will automaticcally go to part 2, unless you have triggered part 1 once. From that moment onwards it will loop continuously. (I just create the first part with 100 reps, so that I am sure that I can trigger it before it ends the very first time)
There appear to be some issues around live loops, though it is not clear if they are all live loop related; see the support section. Hopefully they get sorted out soon. |

Thx so far, but er... when I try to instert a Patch change in Sonar I can choose between:
Bank select method:
normal, controller 0, controller 32, patch 100..
Bank:
--- , 0-bank 0
Patch:
Preset 0, 1, 2, 3, etc, up to 127
Which options should I choose...? Whatever I do, JS2 simply keeps on playing the songsheet, it seems...
I can't say the manual is very helpfull here: it only mentions the possibility but doesn't tell how to do it... |

I am not quite sure, but I think patch and program change events are equal in this case. So part 1 = PC1 = patch 1, I think.....but maybe not... I'm not quite sure how bank is translated. Maybe this should just be bank 0?
Is JS2 receiving midi? Is the midi LED blinking evey time you press the... keyboard? If not, you are not sending the midi data correctly to JS. |
