I was playing round with the drum module from Studio Instruments in Jamstix last night, and it sounded pretty good. It's a small sample set, but Cakewalk seem to have chosen them well. The snare seems to roll fairly convincingly too, considering that there are no actual roll or bounce samples.

I did a piece a few months back that uses nothing but Studio Instruments, www.richardhanson.me.uk/get_mp3.php?tr=nuns_stutter_idioms (silly title, it's an anagram of Studio Instruments)

I purchased Cakewalk Studio Instruments today.
But it's a pain if you have no access to a seperate FTP application to download the product (download via web-browser in my case IE6 doesn't work).
I've purchased from the company I work for. They allow no manual installation of apps and I have no internet access at home.
I contacted Cakewalk's Tech-Support in the hope they could provide me an alternative download link.
Just to be warned !

After a few days Cakewalk sent me an alternate download link.
It has something to do that some browsers have problems with the original download link.
Hint: If you have this kind of trouble, give Cakewalk a few days more than the usual 2 days to get an answer to your support request.
Cakewalks online store is quite new and I'm sure they will improve something in the future.
All in all: A very good set of instruments for $49 with very realistic sound and what an easiness to use them - very inspiring and highly recommended.
