I see in the manual:
"Ideally, you wouldn’t have to tell Jamstix 2 your time signatures as it can see them via the
VST interface but unfortunately the song position information of VST is not designed to handle
time signature changes and in order to provide a tight synch to the host we require you to set
each part manually."

I have a song I'd like to do where a particular part has one measure at the end which is a different time signature. This part repeats several times. As it looks right now, this one measure needs to be its own part to change its time signature, which will result in many 1 measure parts. It would be great if somehow jamstix would let me have a part which has changing time signatures within the part, and let me repeat it. Am I missing something perhaps?

Doc is right. The blame for this falls on the VST specification.

Possible work-around:

- make two parts: one for the first time sig, one for the last one-bar time sig
- check 'Loop' in the song sheet
- place program change events in your host MIDI track for Jamstix 2 to trigger each part as needed.

See 'Liveloops' in the manual for more detail.

I hit exactly this problem with one of my songs. Adding the measure as a separate part may be a bit of extra work but I think it's probably the best way of dealing with this type of time sig change considering how the host and Jamstix interact.

Unfortunately there is a very stingy limit of 18 parts in a song, which will definitely be a problem if you are adding a lot of single measure parts. When I brought this up before, Ralph's response was "We will see about increasing the 18 part limit in a future update". Did this make it onto the to-do list Ralph?

It's on the to-do list but it will take a bit of time...
