Hi, I'm playing with the demo and I select the strongest audio track I've recorded, either the bass or rhythm guitar, then go to VST instruments and choose jamstix. I can hear it and play with it, it's great! However, I think it's then residing on the track with that instrument and the volume cannot be adjusted. Is there any way to assign it to its own track? If I purchase the program, is this something that would be different? So far I'm just fooling around with free jam demo to see how it sounds with things I've all ready recorded.

Thank you!
Christine.

Is this Jamstix 1 or 2 and what version of Cubase are you using?

Hi Ralph, I have the Jamstix 1 Demo and Cubase VST/32.

Just yesterday a friend showed us how to make a midi drum track in cubase, we had wondered if there was something in the program. It sounds really canned though, but it made me wonder, with the full version of Jamstix if a drum track could be set up in a similar fashion on a blank track. However, I really like the Freejam mode too. I'm no drummer and the thought of using that cubase pencil to draw in snare/kick/etc. with little skill really doesn't excite me.

Thanks!
Christine.

Please download the Jamstix 2 demo from our site since we're not selling Jamstix 1 anymore at this time.

Cubase VST/32 is quite old and Cubase has come a long way since then. Nowadays (SX version and up), when you add Jamstix to the VST instruments, you automatically get instrument and audio tracks for it in Cubase. I am not sure if this is possible in VST/32. Hopefully someone with that version can chime in?

I'll have to remember how I downloaded version 1, I think I had to do it from work as this computer that's online doesn't have the memory. I have to put it on a disk and install on the recording computer. I should look into a cubase upgrade.

I sometimes feel like just buying a ghetto blaster and some blank cassettes! One step forward, 2 back.........sorry to whine, I just wish the whole thing was easier! I don't have much time to devote to it and feel like I'll never get my songs recorded properly unless I either shell out more $$ for better reverbs, etc. and more programs and then a cubase upgrade, arghgh!!!! Shocked

I have some songs online, but they are far from perfect, but I would like to know if anyone thinks that for not knowing much about recording, we're getting somewhere? http://www.myspace.com/chrisbrine

I just had aneurysm surgery 6 weeks ago and I can't sing because it hurts my head, so does loud music, just feeling down, thanks for listening. I know this is a technical forum, just feeling down. I have tinnitus and sound sensitivity issues, can't play in a band anymore, really want to record my songs, I can do it in short bursts only.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Christine,

If your thinking of upgrading Cubase, checkout REAPER first... it'll cost you a lot less money and it's awesome - I'm not sure about Cubase VST/32 but Reaper is far far better than Cubase LE (which I have) and I know that's much newer than VST/32.....
Actually, I'm surprised Ralph or somebody else hasn't already recommended it.
You can import your recorded audio/midi tracks into new Reaper projects BUT you will have to set up any effects/VSTs you're using on them (Doesn't usually take long to sort that out).

Oh yes, and you can install REAPER onto a flash memory stick so you can run it on more than one computer. Check out UNCRIPPLED shareware/trialware version of Reaper here:

Cheers,

Chris
