I don't know who marked this thread as 'solved' - it certainly wasn't me!

Back in the real world, running real tracks instead a simple test, although the changing of CPU priority has help quite a lot, the problem is still with me. I'm now running a real job and the JS2 GUI is taking no end of processing power.

I have eight midi tracks. These involve seven instances of BS-1 and one of Mr Ray - none of these is particularly resource hungry. Lastly, there is a midi drumtrack which I am sending to JS2 in 'Jam with MIDI' mode.

With the JS2 GUI open, the CPU usage is reported at 94% (by Windows, Tracktion reports a much lower figure, but I've come to the conclusion that Tracktion doesn't report this figure very accurately at all) and I can hear little breaks in the audio. If I close the JS2 GUI, the figure drops to around 40% - which is pretty much what I would expect to see - and playback is perfect. I've fiddled around with the buffers, but that seems to make little or no difference.

I sounds like you have additional problems compared to me -- I never saw such indications of abnormal CPU use here during my bug-hunt.

(I still haven't stress-tested it severely -- So far, i have run it alongside 4 sampled instruments with some 5-6 effects switched on at the most...)

I set it to 'FIXED' after the background services priority tip was posted since that will help many users.

Fingers, please let JS2 run with the 94% CPU for a minute or so and then send me the rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix 2 folder.

Thanks!
