Does Jamstix 2 use the rhythm from MIDI input?
If so, in what ways?
The effect of velocity changes is obvious, but I can't tell what's happening as I change the rhythms coming in.

Hi nedwardo
To save me typing it out, have a look at page 20 of the manual, at the top.
JS2 does react differently to midi input from JS1.
I hope that is what you are refering to.

I guess what I was really looking for is whether JS2 varies what rhythm it plays in response to different input rhythms. In other words, if I send in 16th notes will it play a different pattern than if I send in 8th notes? Can it adjust fills to fit an incoming pattern?
As I understand it, the Power control has more to do with playing intensity than with what pattern of hits come out. |

We went down that route and it does not produce good and reliable result. It is better to have the brain control the groove and use the MIDI input data for velocity, switch rules and some extras (like staccato hits).
