Want some slightly more convincing drummer pics for JS2? Head over to my hokey google page and grab the pics. Store them in your jamstix2/data/players/ directory and you'll now see pics of each drummer instead of the stock pic. I only spent about ten minutes on these so they are a bit uneven and don't quite match the exact look of the stock photo. They are cool to experiment with. If no one beats me to the punch I'll see about doing some high quality versions to match more closely when I get the time.
Edit: Modified topic title because this still applies to current Jamstix version. |

Of course you're free to put whatever image(s) you please on your computer. This is just a legal disclaimer that this is not endorsed by Rayzoon in any way _________________ Ralph Zeuner

For anyone interested in doing some research into the likely candidates for each of these drummers, go to Drummerworld and just start searching for the first names of the drummer models.
This is very much like companies who make modeling products for guitar. They can't say, "This model sounds just like a Mesa Boogie." But they can say, "This model is modeled on a Mesa Boogie" and then put some legal mumbo jumbo about how Mesa Boogie is a trademark of its respective owner.
So I would say these drummers are "modeled on" these real world guys. Not that they "are" these real world guys. |

Thanks for the pics! Sorry for beating you to the punch but I sort of copied your work, using your choice of photographs, making everything a bit more like the original JS2 pics (same green, same inner shadow and not blurred but just 'light' pics). Now when you switch drummers, you will hardly notice these aren't original pics!
Here are links to the seven drummers (as links, on order to prevent problems):
Carter
Charlie
John
Phil
Roger
Steve
Stewart
Unfortunately Tinypic renamed the files, so remember to rename them again (Charlie.jpg, John.jpg, etc.) |

Thanks. I didn't realize the first time that the pictures were intended for inclusion in JS2. Now I've found you can even change description of the drummer as those are simple txt files. Very nice. There is even room to add a few notes of your own, if you want a reminder about your preferred use for a certain drummer.
... I just need to know exactly who those drummers are. Then you can add their name and band as a heading. |

Thanks for the pics.
Not really being into drummers (at all) I only recognise Phil, but I presume they are all some 80s-90s Rock drummers? |

Not knowing much about drummers either, I have finally solved this guessing game. Go to:
http://www.drummerworld.com/
Search the for Carter, Charlie etc. and one of them will have a corresponding photo. They seem to be taken from there.
Also, you can get some more info about who they played with. I have now typed this into the txt files in the JS2 players folder. Otherwise I will have forgotten next month who was John and who was Roger. It is real nice to have this immediately available.
Anyway, I don't think there is any copyright problem involved here. "The play like Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler etc." thing has always been around. But using a trademark of an amp manufacturer could be another thing, if e.g. Fender doesn't like the sound your plugin produces they may claim it reduces the sales of ther Twin Reverb. But I don't think it is likely they would sue Rayzoon for a Charlie Watts not sounding good. |

So who is James Stix? I think it's Ralph.
If this is the case Ralph, I think we need a picture.
