|
|
Hey there,
I'm having trouble getting the snare to work in Sonar 6.2.1 with Jamstix 1.81. I created a new project and added Jamstix, and when I audit the snare I can hear it just fine, but when I try to do a manual jam the snare never plays. I am able to enable the toms, cymbals, hihats and kicks and they work fine, but it just ignores the snare settings. Any idea what might be happening here? This is driving me crazy

Make sure the velocity slider is not too far down where rhythm reduction will eliminate some (or even all) snares.
If you need to play quietly and still need the snares then move the velocity slider up and then uncheck 'Reduction' in the jam tab. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the quick reply!
So I think that's on the right track, but it still doesn't seem to work for me... When I move the velocity slider up and press Record in Sonar, the first snare sounds successfully, but then the velocity slider immediately moves to the far left and I don't hear any more snares. It doesn't matter whether I lock the velocity slider, or even if I uncheck the Allow Reduction box...

Are you using 'Jam With MIDI' or 'Jam With Audio' and are you actually sending such data to Jamstix? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
I have it set to Jam with Audio, but I'm actually not feeding any audio to Jamstix... I was hoping to create a drum track using the manual jam and then add the audio later...I wasn't really looking to jam with the program at this time. Is there a way to do that in Jamstix? Sorry...I'm a bit of a n00b... So if I'm not feeding any audio to Jamstix will it automatically cut off all the snare sounds?

What you want to do then is locking the velocity slider with the lock icon above it. After that you can slide it where you want it and it won't move back down. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
