|
|
Hi, I bought JS 1.8 as part of the group buy. I installed it, but hadn't really done anything with it that I'd consider a "keeper."
I have since built a new computer system and have subsequently received my download link to JS2.
So I'm thinking that unless I collaborate with a JS 1 user, I have no need to keep any old versions on my hard drive at this time.
At this point, I would like to install only JS2 (and its kits) plus any/all of the kits that I received with JS1. Are there any instructions that I can use to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance! |

Easy. (I was in the same situation.) Install JS2. When it is installed, open it in your host and go to the Kit menu, click on Install Pack and select a pack file (extensions are .rxp for JS1 packs and .rx2 for the JS2 pack). JS2 will install the packs and they will be available for loading. (With JS1 the packs had to be put in a special folder in order to install them, but that's not necessary anymore with JS2, so you can keep and save those packfiles anywhere you want to.)
BTW AFAIK you won't have access to the fill and groove (or whatever) files that came with JS1, they will only be available when JS1 is installed, but that doesn't matter to me. |

Thanks, I appreciate your instructions.
As for the "fill and groove" files that you mentioned, I can make a guess....but it's better if I ask what are they, and what (if any) importance might the JS1 versions have?
Thanks again! |

They don´t have any special importance, only for the people that are used to some of the fills and grooves that came with JS1.
I´d recommend getting to grips with JS2 now. It´s a special beast on its own! |

| Okay, will do. I'll probably get around to installing it Friday. Or Saturday. Thanks for the advice. |
