Finally had a real good chance to try it out-- it's amazing, thank u ralph for all your work. seriously awesome, that's all i can say.

Some issues i came across and ideas:

1. when i loaded a bfd kit w/ sidestick snare, the sidestick wouldn't play (even though it's mapped to C#1 and in bfd it's mapped to C#3 and acc. to what u told me that's just an octave name issue)--and i could audition that sound from w/in bfd, but not from jamstix.

2. clicking on the groove-weight option gives me a screen w option to load a groove weight, but all i get is a folder w/ "straight.js2" in it, no "syncopated, neutral, etc." or whichever ones are supposed to be there acc. to manual.

3.I want to understand more about the core bar vs. not core-- will the not core bars follow the core bars exactly, or just the settings, etc.? and if it's just the settings, is there a way to recompose just the non-core bars alone, but leave the core bars alone, without doing it one by one (just to get a dif. variation)? And, importantly, could there be a way to slightly vary a groove as it goes along, even within the core bars, meaning u just want an extra kick sometimes or something, now maybe that falls under accents, but some drummers/styles don't have so many accents-- so maybe just a function that keeps it the way it is, but slightly varies it, so like an extra or deleted snare or kick will occur.

4. Could it be implemented maybe that w/in a style, there would be options for that specific style, but also give u other options as well? For instance, let's say u want hi-hats to be closed in a style that's not providing that as an option, etc., could we have like all those standard options available (like i saw in someone's post about snare-ghosting option). I saw u wrote that u're planning on adding a style in the model of Jamstix 1's rhythm tab, that sounds great, but maybe even within the other styles there could be like a broader system which would maybe be a little bit more uniform

5. For fills, often u would want the character of a repetition fill to be different than that of a transition fill, like the repetition will be straight but the transition will "power" into the next part, etc. So maybe they could be handled separately, or else certain aspects available to both separately?

6. Wondering if there was a way for jamstix to tranport your host daw to a position for playback, by clicking on bar 54 in the timeline it would automatically bring your host to bar 54 as well. That would be nice cuz in the workflow, you're alway starting, stopping, transporting, etc.

7. Can u designate a bar to be a fill without creating a new part, like a "fill part" similar to the intro/ending, or maybe just in any bar within a part?

Ok, i know that was a really long post, sorry, but the reason is that i care-- this is truly ground-breaking software, and i know as it adapts with your ever-present updates/betas that it will become unstoppable. It's getting there already. I don't know if btw u read my last post in the topic "a few questions", there were a few issues there (like bfd pre-loading a drumset). Thanks! Oh, one last thing, is midi jamming supposed to be only w/ a set style/drummer? And-- when i tried jamming with modern funk, it was going along ok until i loaded a drummer-- and seriously i don't what he was playing, it was like he went crazy on me, so i don't know if that's some kinda issue or what but i could barely figure out where 1 of the measure was. That's what i call syncopated! I ahd much more success later, w/ metal and a drummer, no problems.

What kit file is that?

Right-click on a tick number and then you can choose the groove weight in that menu.

Non-core bars follow the core bars exactly, except for groove feel variations and composition filters that some drummer models have as well as accents and fills.

That falls into the accent area. Look at 'Stewart' for example, who adds extra kicks.

Yes, that is being considered...

Food for thought. For now you have the separate lengths.

Would be nice but the hosts don't allow this.

Yes, just go to the bar and the FILL screen and click the COMP button.

Would you ad an option to have JS2 improvise like JS1's Free Jam when loaded? That is the big plus that JS1 has over JS2.

The kit was BFD 1.5 all outputs, and the actual bfd kit was i think lucite, but its default snare doesn't have a sidestick option, so i then loaded instead one of their extra snares that does indeed come with sidestick--so maybe that had something to do with it.

Thanks as always for your detailed reply. I'm slowly starting to forget all about Jamstix 1... Wink (Well not really, cuz that's what started it all, and actually it was my first vst instrument.)
