If you have either JS1 or JS2 on a track in Tracktion, then use the right click menu to "Replace this filter", and replace it with the other version, it crashes Tracktion every single time. It starts to load the new interface, then POOF! It's gone. No messages, no nothing.

Is this JS related? Or Tracktion related? It doesn't seem to do it with any other plugin combination I tried. Maybe they are loading some of the same stuff and switching it out crashes things?

I'll also report this to Mackie as well.

Ok, I've reported this to Mackie too.

This is probably more important than it may seem. If people are replacing JS1 with JS2 in their tracks, and using Tracktion, that's the easiest way to switch out plugins.

Again, not sure where the problem lies, but it doesn't happen with other plugins. I also just tried replacing JS1 with another sample based plugin, and others, and it doesn't give any issues. So it's surely just with replacing one JS with another.

Confirmed. Work around: delete JS1 first and then drag filter->JS2 on to that track.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I just wanted to make sure it was "noted", in case it was a priority at all.

For me, I'll likely not need to do it too often. But many people may want to replace their drums from JS1 projects with JS2, and will run into this. But it's not hard to workaround at least.

Thanks Ralph!

I just saw that Bidule hangs also when I try to replace JS1 with JS2. A lot of the JS1 threads are still hanging around active according to SysInternal's Process Explorer. I have to kill Bidule to recover.

I think this has to be a Tracktion issue - there's a lot of other things that make T2 suddenly vanish into mid.air. It seems that Mackie are nailing them, but not for JS so far.
