Is there any way I can delete jamstix1 and the jamstix1 folder? I was thinking all I'd need to do is put the kitpiece files (e.g. Chimes Slow _c01.rzd) into the jamstix2 "sounds" folder. If I do that will js2 find them?

Is there anything else I could or should move as well or is that the only thing I need to keep from jamstix1. (i.e. thinking of rhythms or mappings).

Good question! I installed JS2 last night had a very, very quick look at it, and think it looks awesome - nice work guys..

So, all I need to know now is can I uninstall all of JS1 to free up some space?

Cheers

found out the following:
1. after installing js2 and loading some kits I received messages that some samples were missing. these disappeared after installing the sample paks again. strange, since i am not aware that I deleted ore removed some content of the samples folder. so if you are experiencing something similar: just install the kits again.
2. move all the js1 rrf files to the "grooves" folder
3. move all the js1 raf files to the "fills" folder

The groovemaps folder scurrently seems to have just one file (straigt 4 4). maybe, ralph could provide some more groove maps and tell us how to load them.

cheers, drjee

drjee, is pretty much right on. If you want to uninstall JS1, you should copy the RRF and RAF files as he indicated and also all RZD files to the 'sounds' folder of Jamstix 2.

Personally I will keep JS1 as a pattern editor. I find it easier and quicker to use for a basic pattern which I then can import in JS2 for further treatment. The JS2 GUI is probably easier to understand, but now that I am familier with the JS1 interface, it is quicker to just click once with the mouse to add or remove a kick drum kick etc. when you have it all laid out right there.

We actually are planning to add a style to JS2 in the future that has a checkbox system similar to the JS1 rhythm tab for those who love that approach. We just need to get things settled first...

I loved the right-click and drag feature with the checkbox for the volume changes...not looked yet to see if there is an equivalent in JS2...

The bar editor supports right-click/slide for velocity changes.
