|

How would you setup Jamstix in order to utilize an external drum module in FL5? I want to use a hardware drum module to produce the sounds, not a VSTi. I tried using the output port setting, but midi data does not seem to be exported, even within bars 1-4.
Thanks in advance! |

My apologies--it was a mistake on my part. It works well now.
However, it would be nice if I could specify a midi channel for the output, apart from channel 1.
Thanks! |

Today (Saturday), we will release a Jamstix update that allows you to set the MIDI out channel. It also has less annoying audio reminders. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm impressed with the very responsive support! I will be seriously examining this product.
Thank you... |

| I have the full version of Jamstix, and I can't seem to get it to work with Jam with midi. How does this need to be setup? I'm able to get it to work with Jam with Audio fine, though. |

| Hi Ralph - the arranger doesn't advance bars using FL5.02 (JS 1.02G and JS RC1.03). Strangely, the beat number updates but the bar number doesn't. Can you tell me if this is a JS issue or a FL issue? Thanks! |

Sounds like you have FL on loop on bar 1. Check the FL bar display and see if it advances past bar 1. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I don't use Fruity very much... | FLS 5.02 is my primary host, and I made the same mistake so don't feel too bad. |

| When JS is loaded (the last RC1.03) and the "smooth input" slider is raised above hard low, the slider is rapidly jumping up and down. It does this whether playing or not and will only stop by sliding it back to hard low. I didn't see this in Samp, Tracktion, n-Track or Acid - only in Fruity 5.02. |

It's funny to watch
The slider position is calculated using the blocksize (latency buffer) signalled by the host. Now this value shouldn't change unless you change your latency settings.
[EDIT]
Some host report odd numbers so Jamstix uses the block length sent by the host during audio processing as an alternative.
[/EDIT]
Apparently Fruity sends alternating (incorrect) values at a high rate while Jamstix is running. We'll fix this by using the value signaled during plugin startup only, which appears to be a good value in my test here.
Fix will be available later today.
Thanks for the catch! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph!
I don't like working in Fruity, but out of the 5 hosts I have, the JS performances (especially when sub hosting DFHS) are smoother and tighter to my ears. So it will be good to have this fixed, once again thanks! |
