I know you folks are crazy busy right now, so when you have a moment...
I keep getting a "missing sample" message, and Jamstix tells me that I don't have a sample for "drumsticks."
I checked in the "sounds" directory, and couldn't find anything of the sort... any advice/information?
Many Thanks,

Yes, we didn't include the drumsticks in JS2 anymore. What kit gives you this error? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the response. I decided to do a close look-through of all the kits I have, spanning Jamstix 1 XL and Jamstix 2.
Drumsticks don't show up at all -- as you said, it's not in there.
These elements came up missing in several kits:
Cymbals: Splash 10", China 12" and 18", Crash 16" HHX.
Snares: 14x7 Rockstar, 14x4 Premier MC Maple, 13x3.5 Deluxe Maple, 14" Kevlar, 14x5.5 Slingerland Brass, 12x5 Little Squealer
Additionally, when I load Jamstix 2 LoFi and LoFi Fat Kits, not all of the samples play, though the gui says that something is loaded. Only chimes, snare, and jam blocks play.
System info FWIW:
I have been testing Jamstix 2 using Cakewalk Project 5. My audio interface is an EMU 1820m; Pentium D 805, 2 GB RAM, and plenty of HDD space.
I uninstalled Jamstix 1 before installing Jamstix 2. Could this have created the problem?
Many Thanks,
Russ |

Yes, because those sounds are from JS1 and Paks. You can either reinstall JS1 and all Paks or you can just use the 'Install Pak' option in Jamstix 2 to install the Paks and JS1 stock kit. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi there
I have this problem as well.
I am a new user to Jamstix 2 XL and have never installed version 1.
I installed Jamstix, and then all packs using the "install pack" option.
I can easily reproduce this in Cubase 4.
1) Add instrument Jamstix2
2) Selected the bottom style from the playlists quick wizard
3) check in kits and i have the same error.
I can't get into jamstix at the moment, as when I try to launch in cubase now for some reason the GUI is hidden for the most part in the lower right of the screen. I can see in my launch bar "Wizard" but can't interact with the window. I have to kill with task manager.
I have also had some crashes with Cubase 4, will repro when I get a chance. |

I think this is because some kits are mapped to mulitiple outputs.
You need to make sure all ouputs are activated.

Sure thing, that kit specifies the drumsticks. We'll add them in the next update but it's really just cosmetic since they won't ge tused by the brain anyway.

Keep us informed of these problems so we can work on a fix. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph, I have the same problem. For example, loading the Rock Big Kit, I have three missing sounds. One is obviously the drumsticks, and the other two are Splash 10" and China 18".
I also uninstalled jamstix1 prior to installing JS2, but I did use the Install Pak options to install all the paks I have, which are: brushpak, drumpak1, drumpak2, epak and snarepak.
I also re-installed JS1, but no sounds where installed with it. Where can I find these two missing sound files? Also, can you tell me what the name of the missing drumsticks sound file is. If I can put a dummy file in there, I don't have to see the warning for something that is not a warning. |

Hi, I'm also a new user of JS2 XL.
I have the same issue with SX3 (latest version). When playing around with the factory kits (also get missing sounds), Cubase quits to the desktop without an error message.
However, last night I tested JS2 as a sub-host for DFH-S and EZDrummer and I had no problems.
