|
|
UPDATED 04/17 9:25PM EST
Here is the current release candidate for the upcoming 1.03. It is essentially the X2-11 Build but with a few enhancements (marked blue) and with a much smaller footprint. Let us know if you find any bugs or issues.
Please note that since the data storage system has been greatly modified in this Build, any projects you save with it cannot be read by Jamstix versions older than X2-11.
If you load projects that were saved with X2-11, you may have various bars muted in the arranger. Projects saved with earlier versions will open fine.
Demo Users http://66.235.201.50/demos/jamstix103demo.zip
Customers http://66.235.201.50/updates/jamstix103.zip
audioM8 Update http://66.235.201.50/demos/audioM8.zip
Updated PDF Manual http://66.235.201.50/demos/jamstix_manual.zip
- jam control panel sliders that do not apply to manual jam are now hidden
- tooltip (bubble help) abandoned in favor of status line hint display. Higher compatibility+less CPU usage
- fixed Jamstix 'forgetting' key word jam settings after GUI close
- return-to-zero now works fine in SAVIHost and Chainer Standalone
- putting several fills back-to-back now works again (previously accent suppression also suppressed the following fills)
- fixed oversized rectangle in big time window
- added MIDI automation parameter that can suppress snare and tom accents
- added Mute function to arranger to mute individual bars
- Jamstix can now handle time signature changes within a song
- audioM8 now supports muting audio source
- DFHS extra sounds (LRTom, LRSnare) can now be mapped via ini file
- added percentage display to hints on various sliders in the jam tab
- added 'accent suppression' to mode editor to specify a number of bars that should be without snare or tom accents after a fill or intro. Default is 1.
- audio trim knob is now input trim knob and controls MIDI input as well
- audio-in velocity map is now input velocity map knob and controls MIDI input response as well
- added instant fill, intro and ending triggers to the mode editor
- Jamstix now aborts the module load and prompts the user if a sub-hosted module requires more outputs than Jamstix is set to.
- console sliders can now be trimmed via ini setting (GainBoost=x with x being a multiplier)
- chunks are now zipped to reduce project file size (ca. 300kB reduction)
- BarOffset can now be set via ini file
- fills are now protected within a live loop (unless on the last bar of the loop)
- fixed chimes offset
- fixed 'Invalid Pointer Operation' error caused by memory manager
- fixed pulsating screen refresh when changing fills etc. in the arranger
- console outputs shown in use when subhosting now reflect actual outputs in use by module

You're my hero...
I've been looking for the mute and have managed to do a workaround, but this is great.
By the way, I worked on the system for well over 2 hours last night and not a single lockup. _________________ darcyb62 |

Darcy, could you tell me the file date/time of your jamstix.dll?
I am asking because I did update the downloads soon after I put them up and from your description you may have been an early downloader. I want to make sure your report applies to the latest DLL. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I don't have my system in front of me but I have been keeping current with your updates. So as the patches have come out, I have applied them. I would have your latest beta on right now and would be applying this latest release tonight.
I am getting close to finishing my first piece with this so I will send it up to you when I'm done. _________________ darcyb62 |

Oh, I misunderstood you. I thought you worked on RC1.03 for 2 hours last night.

Not a problem... I can understand the confusion... The comment was directed at my earlier issue with my system locking up. _________________ darcyb62 |

This version causes the Waves conflict again, as with the first release. _________________ Antony Richards

I tried the new beta version dll tonight in SX3 and cuoldn't get it to load. I checked the Plugins Information window and Jamstix was listed in the unloadable section. I reinstalled the previous dll and its fine again. This is the first problem I've had with any of the updates.
I don't want to sound like I'm whinging on my first post, I'm a rubbish drummer and Jamstix looks like it could be the very solution I had hoped for. If there is any further information I can provide which will help identify the cause of the problem, I will gladly do so. (You will probably have to tell me where to look for it first, though).
Regards,
Pete |

That's why we're collecting feedback, there are fundamental changes in the copy protection of Jamstix in this Build and we need to make sure it is compatible with the myriads of configurations out there.
Are you using the demo version? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No joy in Fruity Loops 5.02, just getting a bunch of random hits.
I went back and tried several recent .dll's, 1.02G and X2-7 works fine and X2-11 and RC1.03 do not. I even tried deleting the track in FL and doing a new one for JS and still just random hits. I went back to X2-7 again and it's fine again.
I'm doing a midi file input to trigger JS in keyword mode while hosting DFHS. The pad lights in DFHS correlate with the random sounds I'm hearing.
[edit] it seems related to the velocity slider - in X2-7 the slider is hard right for this particular midi file but in X2-11 the slider is hard left.
[edit] OK there's no problem after I messed with the input trim knob... I should have read the stinking update notes closer! You might want to default it to 12 o'clock or something?
[edit] wow- it's pretty impressive that you added functionality and shrunk the .dll from 6.8M to 1.8M ! How did you ever do that? |

| Don't know if this is a bug or I'm being stupid. When I hit the bar reset arrow, I hear a drum sound instead of the display resetting. This is in the latest, RC103. |

That's what we'll do in the official 1.03

There was a bunch of auxillary info from the compiler in the DLL that was not needed. We also started to use code compression for security reasons. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
