In the jam tab: When I set the start/stop note e.g. C#3 on my midi keybard, nothing happens. I check the lttle box, it turns green, I hit my mid note, then hit the keyboard icon to set it. Then I start the host and hit C#3 and . . . nothing happens!
I'd lke to be able to use this feature. I don't see much else in the manual to indicate what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for your help.

Which host are you using, and do you have the Jamstix midi track monitor activated?

I'm using phrazor. Actually I found I was in manual jam mode. I switched to free and keyword jam and it worked. However, sometimes it will stop after a few bars. Even if I clear the arrangement it will play just a few bars and stop. WHat's the solution?

Thanks for all your help.

Are you hitting the start/stop key in the process of playin the part you are working on?

I'm not sure what you mean.
In Free or Keyboard jam mode I hit the key at the beginning of the song, it plays one bar and stops. When I check the Arrangement there is a green "F" on bar 2 or 3 - wherever I hit the start key on my midi keyboard. Ideally I'd like to use the start/stop function in Manual jam so I'd have a little more control, but it doesn't work there at all.

Is it supposed to work in manual jam? Even keyboard jam might be OK if I could get it to play more than a bar.

Even if I could get it to play an ending I'd be happy. Can you give me step by step instructions? I'm a registered owner of Jamstix.
Thanks

Me again. Just to clarify a little further:
I tried this in Cantabile and in Savihost and still it does he same thing. I take a song I've already made in Manual mode with no intro or ending in the arrangement, put it in Free Jam, hit the start key. It plays for 1 bar and stops. I've put a rhythm in Manual mode (or keyboard mode) and would like to start and stop, having Jamstix put in the intros and endings as I am performing live.

ME AGAIN sorry! I meant to say KEYWORD JAM in my former posts, not Keyboard jam. Still trying to grasp the program and terms.

I mean are you inadverdently hitting your start/stop key while you are playing your part. It sounds like that's what you are doing. When I first started using the start/stop key I did the same thing and didn't know why it was putting an ending a couple of bars into the jam. Make your start/stop key one that is at the very bottom or top of your keyboard. I don't know if it works in manual jam, I never really use manual jam except to edit the arrangement.

The key is the 88th key (top) on my keyboard. No, I'm not hitting it inadvertently.

I think I found the solution. It finally dawned on me (duhhh) to try another key besides the top C key. Sure enough, it worked on tha low A key. Not sure why but I'm now very happy I can start and stop with intros and endings. Thanks for your patience with me, a jammin' neophyte.
Please tell Ralph to disregard my email I sent today. He has ore important things to think about, I'm sure, like getting JS2 out by Aug. 29th, and then, of course, jam bassist.
