Patiently waiting ... but this is great news ... love your product and the changes sound "dead on". Should be a huge success ... I'm spreading the word to all my buds.

Very Happy

Ralph,

I bought the Jamboree, 'all packs' pack late in 06 or early 07. Will I get JS 2 XL as my free upgrade?

Or, will all of the extra packs work in JS2? I use the other packs extensively in my work.

All the extra packs will work in JS2. There are no specific JS2 packs. The XL version is 'nothing else' but JS2 with all the 'same old' packs that worked with JS1.
The free upgrade only goes for JS itself. You already have all packs, so getting JS2 along with it will automatically result in having the XL version.
If you will get JS2 for free or not (in which case you will get a huge discount) depends on when you bought JS1. I suspect you bought JS1 during the time a free upgrade to JS2 was promised, so... that's it: without paying anything you will have JS2 XL the day JS2 will be released! Wink

(Dit I explain that clearly or did I only make things more complicated...? Cool )

J van E: could not have said it better Smile

rockstar_not: you bought in 12/06 so you'll get the upgrade free.

You'd buy the normal upgrade plus the 'All Paks Bundle' at $49.99.

Read the J2 manual twice. Can't wait for the movie.

I am extremely excited about this new release. Everything looks good and well thought out. I do a lot of live playing with a realtime looper and if I am understanding the manual, the Loop button under the Song Sheet menu can be toggled realtime during a song?

So in other words I can start out with it off, go: Intro, Verse, Chorus1, then toggle it on, goto: Drum solo, choose the next part, and toggle it back off?

If so can I take make Drum solo an option by placing it after Ending?

What I am really looking forward to is having my looper and J2 respond to the same midi button on my foot controller and change parts in synch. Should be very cool.

Thanks and keep up the great job.

I'd also been in for a preorder. $40 is nuts, but I'm not at all surprised. Rayzoon has consistently far exceeded the service, support, and price/value ratio of any other software product I've ever purchased. Great stuff.

+1

Ralph how will Jamstix 2 handle something like 11/8 time? I have a piece of music in this time signature. It is essentially 12/8 compound time, 4 beats in the bar, triplet feel minus the last pulse (ie. 3 2/3 beats per bar). Will Jamstix 2 pick up on the triplet feel or will or attempt to actually play 11 beats per bar?

Here's an example in 11/8:
http://www.rayzoon.com/stuff/118.mp3

The first part is '8th Rock' style. As you can hear, Jamstix simply plays that style within the 11/8 time frame (fills are automatically realigned by the way).

The second part is the same but I've marked the 10th 8th note as 'heavy' in the bar editor to tell Jamstix to emphasize it.

The third part is like the first but I've set the last heavy beat to neutral to de-emphasize the ending of the groove.

The forth part is a 6/8 style without modification and the last part is a 16th Rock style.

So, you can experiment with various styles, just letting them loose on your 11/8 meter and seeing what they come up with and you can also influence the brain by setting the groove weights on certain beats.

Fantastic - thanks Ralph! Roll on the release date!

Ralph,

This new release is going to be great!
And to echo what everyone else already pointed out, your price is just absurd- what a deal!

A question for you regarding JS2's midi capabilities. I was wondering if JS2's midi will now play well with Ableton Live (knowing full well that this is Ableton's issue). Or is there a new way to export midi in JS2 that will work with the deficiencies around midi in Ableton Live?

thanks again,
a
