We'll see if we can duplicate this and narrow it down. You did get this problem with Beta 1891, right? If so, please send me a full rzdlog.txt file of Beta 1891 running in REAPER in keyboard jam for 20 bars or so. It doesn't have to have had the crash. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Got your log and was able to replicate. I'll try and have a fix for you to test later today. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph,
If you let Jamstix create a scratch arrangement in keyword jam, and then switch to manual jam to edit it, is there a way to eliminate fills that are in the wrong place? It was set to do fills every eight bars, which worked fine until the bridge, but after the bridge the fills were coming in the middles of verses. I just wanted to set them a basic rhythm, but it seems that the only thing you can do is change the fill to another fill. I ended up choosing fills that had no snares, but they are still rather annoying.
Is it better to just do everything in manual mode to avoid this? It seems like there should be a "no fill" option in the list. That would simplify things a lot.
Thanks,
John |

When you are in manual jam you can always go to the arrangement tab, right-click on the fill that you want to eliminate and click RESET. Voilà, fill is gone.
OTOH you can create a fill (or intro or ending) by right-clicking a certain bar, check FILL, chose a fill that you like and close the window. |

Doc,
That works! Jamstix is so amazing, but the interface is not always quite intuitive.
Thanks,

Hello Ralph,
I guess the only real question I have concerning the Jamstix2-Reaper union is, are most of the compatibility issues ironed out as of now? Reaper is what I'm using, and I was just wondering if I need to do anything specific to get up and running without incident.

Hello all,
Actually I have a special request for anyone that could spare a few minutes with a newb, I would appreciate if someone could tell me from start to finish, how to get Jamtrax setup in Reaper to play along with the song that comes with it "all through the night", from what I understand Jamtrax will play along with audio that's already recorded, I just cant seem to get it to work, I assume I'm routing something wrong, but being new at this, I am getting very frustrated with something that is probably very simple to do for most people. Any help will be welcomed. Thank you for a great forum.
Regards,

When you say "the song that comes with it" do you mean the "BradSucks_MakingMeNervous" demo song that comes with REAPER?
If so here's how you can get JS2 to work simply (no multi output or anything. once you get this going, go to the Reaper forums and Multi out VSTi's are explained there and there are also some Jamstix multi pout templates you can use.
1. Start REAPER
2. Load up the BradSucks demo
3. Insert a new track at the bottom
4. Click on the fx button of your new track and add Jamstix 2
5. JS2 should open with the quickstart menu. select "Jam Session Rock" (you can choose any really, but this works ok, the electronic one suits pretty cool too)
6. Press play in Reaper and JS2 should be playing along with the song.
You can mute the drum group (track 7) and you can hear JS2 only providing the drums.
Now at the moment JS2 is not jamming to the audio, just to the tempo of the song.
If you want to jam to audio, insert audioM8 on the bass track (you can add it to any audio track, but the bass track is the one that plays through the whole song) and then change JS2 from "Jam - No Input" to "Jam - with audio".
You might need to adjust the input level trim to the right of the jam mode selection to your taste.
Also with jamming to audio it might be better to do a mixdown of the song and then get JS to jam to that rather than just 1 track of the song so you get the dynamics of the whole song and not just the 1 track.

Thank you, I guess i have an older version of Reaper, but that song was included too. I will try that and hope for the best, I thought I had to mess with the routings to get it to work with a midi keyboard, but I'll see.

|
|
Hello there,
Here's a weird issue I've noted (actually I didn't notice it until I started getting lots of "your drums are off" comments on the tunes I've done with Jamstix and Reaper): when I'm playing back or rendering a tune in Reaper (v2.030) with Jamstix 2 (v2.1.4) my drums are always slightly behind the beat. When I move the Timing slider in Jamstix ahead of the beat the same value that my audio card's latency is set to (20ms when I'm mixing down and rendering) the drums are perfectly in sync with all of the other tracks. When the timing slider is dead center, the drums are all behind the other tracks.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It seems to only be an issue in Reaper as I haven't noticed this problem in Project 5 or SONAR. |

I´m only starting with JS2 now,got some questions,please..
I´m trying Reaper demo as my DAW,
How to record the Midi-Out of,whatever i get from JS,into Reaper?
I did some search, but no results.
Does any of you,JS and Reaper users, has a Template or something, that can be posted here,so i can see and understand how its done?
In Reaper,i´ve made 1 template track, just for the JS,..set it to play and JS does is thing fine, but i can only record ITS Audio,..
How do i set a midi track in Reaper to record into Midi whats being played by JS?
Thank you! |

After you've let Jamstix build the track (by playing all the way through at least once), you can click on where it says "Song" in the main screen GUI and drag that to an open track in Reaper where it'll deposit the MIDI track for your entire song. |

Ok, I have the jamstix2 plugin and the audiom8 plug-in loaded in Reaper, but I just can't get the jam with audio to function correctly. I am a total beginner at using jamstix. The meter level in jamstix is working, which tells me jamstix is receiving audio, but jamstix just starts playing along with the tempo in Reaper and when the audio starts the drums in jamstix don't follow the audio very well. I am trying to get jamstix to follow strumming acoustic guitar. Is that possible and exactly what do I need to do to make the jam with audio work effectively? Please provide as much detail as possible since I am a beginner here.
thanks
