Hello,
Im using AD Drums with Jamstix. I've loaded the dll file and set everything up as I like in AD but some of the kit pieces triggered are incorrect. Do I have to re map each kit piece or is there a way round this. ie some sort of mapped file. Can anyone help

Just load AD into Jamstix and go down the soound list in the Jamstix mapping tab. For each sound, hit the 'Audit' button and, if it sounds wrong, adjust the MIDI key assignment for it until it is right or right-click on the keyboard icon next to it to disable the sound if AD has no fitting sound for it.
When done, save your custom mapping for future use.

Hi everyone
I've noticed on the AD forum quite a few people raving about the combo of Jamstix and AD.
I've downloaded the addictive drums demo,but found this pretty restricting in the way of drum sounds.How are you using addictive drums in Jamstix?I usually use Free Jam,and I'm trying to see the benefit of addictive drums over what Jamstix does with it's drum sets and intuitive brain over the midi sets that are in the full version of AD.I frequently use Battery as well but I seem to be using the snare packs and drumpaks more and more.I suppose I'm trying to see a justification for buying AD.

Hi Steve!
I guess there is no real justification for buying AD considering how good sounding JS itself is. 
What you get though is a very good sample set and the possibility to alterate and mix it in one box which I find is very convenient.
Other than that I can´t see any major advantages.
I always use AD subhosted in Jamstix.
And I personally don´t look at AD´s Midi drag and drop features at all because I let JS do the job.
I don´t know if this can cure your G.A.S. ...

That's cleared my mind on that subject.I think that's one of the things I've learn't since moving over to a software based system.Justifying and questioning what goes on my system.Every time I've done a clean install of Windows I've re-installed less programmes each time.What's that maxim?

The samples and effects are very good and the UI/Workflow is great. The fact that JS is AD savvy is another big plus.
I was using Reason Drum Kits, which have nice samples and good effects, but the workflow and especially the integation with JS made me switch to AD. |
