I haven't used Jamstix for awhile, but learned quite a bit from this forum previously and successfully finished a song in Manual Mode.
I understood how to set up the three tabs (Rythm, Arrangement, and Output) and thought I could easily start building a track again.
Well I loaded Jamstix Ver. 1.7 into Cubase SX3, but had problems right from the start.
The Three biggest issues are:
1. In the Rythm Tab, no matter how many things I select (fill in kick 1&3, snare 2&4, etc.), the only thing that plays is the kick drum.
2. The Bar Numbers are not moving in Jamstix when I hit play in Cubase (If I hit the advance arrow in Jamstix, it will then move to the proper Bar number and move as it should)
3. In the Rythm Tab, the beats aren't moving across either (not lighting up).
(Sequencer is 88 bpm and 1/4 beat)

I tried setting up kick to output 1, snare to output 2, etc. but it still doesn't work.

I reread the manual, but haven't seen anything to trouble shoot this.

Any Idea what I'm doing wrong, I know it must be something simple I'm missing, because this worked great in the past.

Thanks,

NR

Sounds like low velocity. Move the velocity slider right if it is far left.

Make sure 'Stop After Load' is NOT checked in the output tab.

Jamstix 1 requires 3/4, 4/4 or 6/8 time signature.

You need to give us more detail on what exactly doesn't work. Also, what is your host and version.

Also, make sure you are using Jamstix 1.81.

Thanks Ralph!
I updated to Jamstix 1.81 and it took care of all of the problems except the one above (not lighting up or moving across) and therefore not playing selected kick/snare/hats/toms.
It is playing any fills layed out in the Arranger.

I'm going to try changing from 1/4 to 4/4 time signature and see if that does it.

Thanks again,

NR

Ralph changing it to 4/4 did it!
Everything is working!!!
I usually use 1/4 instead of 4/4 to get rid of the metronome accent, but it is not a big deal.

Thanks again,

Paul
