|
|
Or rather, I'm unable to type in the rhythm name field.
The host is Cubase VST 5.1, in Win2k. What happens is, any key that is also a keyboard shortcut for Cubase simply does its Cubase function, and can't be typed in the rhythm name field.
Keys that aren't Cubase shortcuts work normally in the rhythm name field.
Is there a fix? I did a search, someone reported something similar in energyXT, but the fix in that thread (left clicking in the field to remove the highlighting before typing) doesn't work for me.

This was fixed in later versions of Cubase. Unfortunately, I don't know of any work-arounds in VST 5.1. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

ok, thanks. I guess I could try using a temp name, using the keys that work, then edit and rename the .rrf in windows. Or remap the Cubase shortcuts. Kind of kludgy, but I hate to abandon an otherwise working host just for one weird bug.
Are you sure there's not something peculiar to Jamstix that causes this? I don't have (or need, or want) a lot of plug-ins to test this with, but for example, text entry works fine in ManyStation on the same system. |

We're using standard Windows controls for the text entry. If there were more problems with other (more current) hosts then we could justify spending resources on a fix from our end but, alas, with the pressures to release Jamstix2, its percussion add-on, expansion Paks and JamBassist, it's just not feasible right now. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

yeah, understood . I'm kind of committed here to VST 5.1, for one thing it works flawlessly with my US-428, and also of course I'm using Windows 2000 SP4, which limits my options toward newer hosts.
Any chance this problem might disappear in Jamstix 2? I bought the Jamboree Pak during the group buy, and am more committed to keeping Jamstix than Cubase VST. I can change hosts if I have to, it'd just be nice if I didn't have to. |

JS2 will have a completely different interface. If you do have the same problem there, let me know and I'll see what I can do... _________________ Ralph Zeuner
