|
|
Seems like I remember in the demo version of JS, that one of the intro's available was the stix being clicked together in the distance. Another one was a "background" voice counting off.."1..2..3..4".
Am I just remembering this wrong, or can I just not find it any more? Has it been removed?
Thanks,

The sticks are on any intro that is less than the whole bar long. If you still don't hear them let me know and we'll check a config file parameter that can suppress them.
The voice is only available via the metronome in the mapping tab. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ray:
Thanks for the prompt repsonse. The "band" actually comes in on beat one. I've got about 6 measure of dead air to play with. How should I get the drummer to count it off, so that it sounds more "live" and energized? (I've always associated the live count-off with the thought that it's a one take tune -- no multitracking).
Anyway, I've tried giving JS a raise, but he still doesn't seem to want to count off for me.
Additionally, how do you tell JS that the intro needs to be shorter than one bar long? hmmm...is the program THAT good? |

If you are using the internal Jamstix sounds then you can manually play in the drumstick sounds in your host.

Look in the 'Intro' list and as you click on intros you will see 'Starts At 3' etc. under the list, which tells you what beat the intro starts at. The higher the number the shorter the intro.
In Jamstix 2 with its dynamic fill generator you can actually set the length for each fill as needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

So, I found the voice, but it's not the one I was thinking of. Wasn't there, at one time a count off that sounded more human (and male, for that matter) as if the drummer were clicking and counting off -- yelling in the background for the rest of the band to come in at the same time?
I promise I'll leave this alone sooner or later, but I could have sworn there was that option. |

AFAIK there was never a yelling drummer option in Jamstix. |

I swear there was an intro where a "drummer" voice would count off "one..two..three...four". (maybe with drum stix?) Please let me know if I'm smokin' something.
AND, while I'm at it, the sticks are suppressed (or at least not sounding) on those intros shorter than the whole measure. |

Make sure you do not have any line in your jamstix.ini file that says:
AllowIntroCountIn=0
If you do, delete it.
As far as the voice is concerned: the metronome in Jamstix has that voice but it is never and has never been used for intro count-ins. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph:
It's not there. I'm assuming that the ini file you're referring to is the one in my c:\program files\%vst_dir%\jamstix location.
Cheers,

The jamstix.ini file is in your Jamstix data folder, where 'samples','rhythms','accents' subfolders etc. are. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Yes, that's the one that doesn't have it. Should I add the line and change it to "1"? Or is there something else that might keep the clicks away? |
